The confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh seems all but confirmed as all signs point to Republicans having the votes to make him a justice of the highest court in the land.
It may get worse for Democrats still as Erick Erickson has reported that sources within the Capitol are now saying that some Democrats will now vote for Kavanaugh thanks to the completed FBI report:
A reliable Senate source tells me the FBI report for Kavanaugh has turned out “even better than they expected.” It has helped lock down votes. The source tells me the Senate GOP now has every indication they will get Democrat votes as a result of the FBI report and are confident Kavanaugh can now be confirmed.
“The Democrats really f**ked themselves in how they did this,” the source said.
As I’ve noted before, they should have started with the drinking and ended at the rape instead of starting with the rape and ending at the drinking.
If this is true, then there’s nothing between Kavanaugh and the Supreme Court except time.
Sen. Chuck Schumer and Dianne Feinstein recently told reporters that they disagree with Republicans that the FBI investigation into Kavanaugh produced no proof of misconduct, and suggested that redacted documents be made public.

This seems more like the dying gasps of a failed strategy, as the documents would have little bearing on the outcome, and is primarily being used as a way to make it seem like Republicans are hiding important information.
However, if what Erickson’s source says is true, then not all Democrats are buying this strategy and some might even be attempting to distance themselves from it.
