Democrats Suddenly Drop "Listen and Believe" Principle Regarding Rep. Keith Ellison's Abuse Victim

The Democrats like to pretend that they’re the party that really stands with women on the issues, especially that of domestic abuse. However, when a high-profile Democrat is accused, the “listen and believe” principle is suddenly tossed out of the window.

According to Fox News, the domestic abuse victim of former DNC Vice-Chair Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota is finding herself suddenly alone on the Democratic side of the aisle after she relayed the story of Ellison threatening her, dragging her off the bed by her feet, and more:

The woman who accused Minnesota Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison of domestic abuse said on Monday that Democrats don’t believe her story and threatened to isolate her over the allegations.

Karen Monahan, a former girlfriend, came forward last month alleging that Ellison sent her threatening text messages and once screamed obscenities at her as he dragged her off a bed by her feet.

Ellison has denied the accusations, saying he “never behaved this way.” He did acknowledge he was in a relationship with the woman.

The allegations didn’t lead to any immediate action against the congressman, except for the announcement that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) would review the accusations. He went on to win the Democratic primary election for Minnesota attorney general.

In the heat of the Democrats focusing all guns on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and the alleged sexual abuse he supposedly committed — though the victim cannot specify a time that it happened, has no witness, and is not cooperating with an attempt at an investigation — Monahan is getting completely ignored by the same party that is supposedly aghast that anyone would do something so heinous to a woman.

Asked if Democrats believe her story on Twitter, Monahan responded in a tweet.

“No, they don’t,” tweeted Monahan. “I’ve been smeared, threatened, isolated from my own party. I provided medical records from 2017, stating on two different Dr. Visits, I told them about the abuse and who did it. My therapist released records stating I have been dealing and healing from the abuse.”

Monahan continued, adding that she knew she wouldn’t be believed.

As the firestorm around Kavanaugh rages and Democrats stomp their feet in outrage, it’s a wonder that no one is interested in Monahan’s story from the left side of the aisle. It would appear that they actually care little for the victims of sexual assault, and are really only focused on making sure they put political wins up on the scoreboard.
