Just to show you how dog and pony this accusation of sexual assault put on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is, the accuser’s lawyer is now declaring that it’s not her or her client’s job to corroborate the story.
Christine Blasey Ford’s attorney, Debra Katz, told CNN on Monday that it’s not Ford’s job to corroborate her claims that Kavanaugh is a sexual assaulter, a very serious allegation that just so happened to surface on the eve of his confirmation to the Supreme Court.
“While we have you, perhaps you can help us fill in the blanks on some of her story. She says that she was at a party in probably 1982 in Montgomery County, Maryland. She says that there were four guys there, these are high school students, as was she. There were four guys there. Were there any girls there that day?” asked CNN’s Alisyn Camerota.
Katz responded by saying that there was indeed another girl at that party, to which Camerota asked Katz if her client had tried to reach out to anyone else at the party in order to find some witnesses to give weight to her story. Katz responded with the bizarre claim that it wasn’t the job of her client (the accused) to find proof that it happened, but that of the investigators.
“That’s not her job to do that. If this is going to be investigated, it should be done by investigators,” Katz said.
I’m no law student, but I’ve been under the impression that if you’re going to accuse someone of a grievous act, you better have the necessary proof, testimonials; anything to make sure that your accuser is the villain you say he is. What Katz seems to be saying is that the accusation is enough for Ford.
At this time, Ford isn’t even sure of the time frame with which the alleged assault by Kavanaugh happened. She’s not even sure about the year. She has no one to corroborate her story. All she has is a claim that is already suspect due to its timing and set-up.
Meanwhile, Kavanaugh has 65 character witnesses attesting to his stand-up nature and respect towards women. Two women have come forward who dated him and also had a glowing review of him.

Is it possible that Ford is telling the truth? Yes. It’s also possible that my dog could write his name if I gave him a pen. The likeliness of any of this is minuscule, and the behavior of the accusing party continues to seem more and more suspect.
The Democrats aren’t helping either. Feinstein seems to be uncooperative in helping Republicans investigate the claims as well.
The more this unfolds, the more this looks like a desperate attempt to delay the confirmation vote until after the midterms.
