The #DeleteFacebook trend just got a participant in the form of one of the most powerful men in the first world.
Elon Musk, popular for creating the Tesla electric car and launching said car in to space through his SpaceX program, has taken both of those companies Facebook pages offline.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this was are a result of data from over 50 million users being mined by Cambridge Analytica while Facebook stood back and watched.
The injury Musk did to Facebook came with insults as well. Upon WhatsApp creator Brian Acton tweeting out “It’s time” followed by the hashtag “#deletefacebook,” Musk responded with “what’s Facebook?”
What’s Facebook?

It was then that Twitter users suggested that upon Musk’s obviously snide remark toward the social media company, that he should then delete his SpaceX company’s Facebook page. Musk agreed.
I didn’t realize there was one. Will do.

Another Twitter user followed up by suggesting Tesla’s page be deleted as well. Musk agreed, saying it looked lame anyway.
Definitely. Looks lame anyway.

Both pages are now gone from the Facebook social network. My respects to the people who may have just lost their jobs over being in charge of running it.
Whether you agree with Musk’s moves or not, you have to admit that this is a major slap in the face to the most powerful social media company in the world. For many, at least on the right, who have felt themselves bullied by the social media corporation’s bias in the past, this is kind of a fun moment.
