Trump is the most hated man in the left’s Marry Poppins bag of things they despise, but in terms of bothering them by just being there, vice-President Mike Pence wins the gold. Unlike Trump, Pence can just stand there silently and cause the left to froth at the mouth. No tweets, no commentary. Just being there is enough.

That’s because Pence is your standard, upstanding all-American guy who does the right thing in most situations and sticks to his values to the point of making rules for himself. He’s a character straight out of 1950’s television. In the pop-culture playground, Mike Pence is the kid all the leftists want to bully.

And the urge to knock on Pence is too strong for the left to resist because in Pence they feel they have a way to knock a genuinely good man off the hill and take the moral high ground with their own brand of virtue. The guy can’t even watch a popular Broadway show without the cast gathering together to virtue signal at his expense (some disagree with me on this Hamilton point, @TheBrandonMorse on Twitter if you want to argue about it), and he can’t even cheer on gay Olympians without them rejecting him wholesale and accusing him of supporting treatments he never has.

All of this anger, and indeed the source of Pence’s goodness, comes from his Christian faith. If just being a good person and a Republican is enough to get the left’s blood hot, being a Christian is enough to cause straight up temper tantrums. In some people’s case, these anti-Pence tantrums come in the form of blindly lashing out at his faith, regardless of the fact that it’s shared by millions.

Enter Joy Behar…again.

During a segment on The View, they were discussing ex-Trump staffer Omarosa Manigault-Newman’s rant about Pence on reality television — where you should for sure get your in-depth political commentary, because it’s 2018, and attention whoring and grandstanding is the new successful and smart.

The ladies of The View — sans Meghan McCain — thought Omarosa’s revealing commentary about Pence was something they should seriously discuss. While McCain dismissed Omarosa’s talk of Pence as her way of trying to get into the pop-culture’s good graces after working in the Trump White House, Behar dismissed logic, abandoned inhibitions and just went after the faith of millions of people in order to hit Pence.

“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness if I’m not correct. Hearing voices,” said Behar.

Co-host Sherri Shepard attempted to (kind of) defend Christianity by saying talking to Jesus and listening for a reply was par for the course, but Behar continued to slam Pence by asking if he can talk to Mary Magdalene without his wife in the room.

If only mental real estate were a tangible thing you could buy or sell. Mike Pence would never have to work another day in his life thanks to all the leftist heads in which he practically owns land. Most people have to work very hard to achieve that level of hate, and all Pence has to do is be himself.

Of course, this isn’t a good look on those who hate him for being him. Hatred of a guy because he does the right thing to the point of social precaution is like hating a welder who puts a welding helmet on before does anything. Pence doesn’t leave himself open for accusations of misconduct, and that has to be infuriating for people who desperately need something to paint this good Christian guy as a sinful hypocrite, and one more example of why people like him can’t be trusted.

But there’s no foothold. The most people like Behar can do is mock him for his goodness, or flat out lie about him. Trump may be the most hated man in the world by the left, but Mike Pence comes about it with no effort at all. Well done.
