At this point, can we all just admit that the GOP tax cuts are a good thing? Corporation after corporation has been utilizing the tax cuts to grow in some way, shape, or form, and this has benefited no one better than the working class. The latest working class folks to see some good stuff coming their way thanks to the tax cuts is Home Depot.
According to CNBC, Home Depot is about to dole out some extra cash to its hourly workers based on how long they’ve been there, and the corporation cites the GOP tax cuts as the reason they can do it.
“This incremental investment in our associates was made possible by the new tax reform bill,” Chief Executive Officer Craig Menear said in prepared remarks. “We are pleased to be able to provide this additional reward to our associates.”
The breakdown goes like this:
Less than 2 years: $200 bonus
2 to 4 years: $250 bonus
5 to 9 years: $300 bonus
10 to 14 years: $400 bonus
15 to 19 years: $750 bonus
20+ years: $1,000 bonus
Corporation after corporation is now jumping on board, including leftist companies like Apple and Starbucks who all cite the GOP tax cuts as the catalyst for their generosity.
Democrats have vowed in the past to reverse the tax cuts, though lately, they have gone ominously quiet due to the popularity of the tax cuts. Either they learned that tax cuts are good, or they’re exploring ways to spin them as bad in order to fulfill their promise.
