The Left Is Angry Bill Clinton Took On Black Lives Matter

It turns out that even the golden god of the Democrats, and America’s first black President no less, can’t get away with going against the progressive left’s pet cause. Apparently, when it comes to Black Lives Matter, even Bill Clinton must know his place.

Just yesterday, I wrote on this delightful video in which we get to see BLM confronting Bill during a speech, as they’re wont to do . Instead of rolling over and taking their abuse on the chin – as other politicians tend to do – Clinton returned fire and defended he and his wife. The video itself has since gone viral, and naturally, everyone has something to say about it.

Including the left, who is less than pleased with Clinton the 1st.

Michelle Goldberg wrote her disapproval over at Slate on Clinton’s behavior, and suggested, in no uncertain terms, that Hillary fire Bill. In fact, that was pretty much the title.

“I wonder if there’s a part of Bill Clinton that doesn’t really want Hillary Clinton to become president, particularly if she has to distance herself from his legacy to do so. How else to explain why one of the world’s most talented and agile politicians is so consistently flat-footed and destructive when advocating on his wife’s behalf? How else to explain his terrible and destined-to-be-viral confrontation Thursday with Black Lives Matter protesters in Philadelphia?”

‘He might as well have said, “All lives matter!”‘ she writes, aghast that Bill would do such a thing as defy people who aren’t white.

Goldberg goes on to highlight the hypocrisy of Bill decrying the criminal justice legacy he left behind one day, then defending it the next, and attributes it Clinton getting on in age. “Perhaps he’s simply slipping, mentally.” she suggests.

At the Guardian, Steven W. Thrasher had little pleasant to say about the former President in his piece titled “How dare Bill Clinton shout over Black Lives Matter protestors?”

. “…Thursday, I cheered on protesters who interrupted Bill Clinton and exposed how ugly, racist and narcissistic he really is,” he wrote.

Thrasher went on to talk about how Clinton is still stuck in the 90’s.

“He is still living in a world of 1990s respectability politics, trying to separate the “good” blacks he thinks will vote from “unworthy” blacks who’ve been marginalized. But Black Lives Matter is not interested in a world where black children must be made “to heel” and where fear-mongering is achieved by mentioning the racist trope of “13-year-old kids hopped up on crack”.”

Trayvon Free, writer at the Daily show tweeted, “Bill Clinton’s comments don’t surprise me at all. Hillary already cleaned up the black vote in the south so now he can tell their truth.”

He then followed it up with this:

While Bill’s spanking of the Black Lives Matter protestors was a thrill to watch, Thrasher has the right of it. Bill is from another time, and today, left-wing politics is dominated by victim culture. The left runs on it now as a primary fuel source.

Even though Bill’s accusation that Black Lives Matter could actually care less about black lives – since they hold drug dealers, and murderers of black people up as consecrated saints – is 100% correct, the cause de jour requires 100% obedience. He must know his place now, lest he face the wrath of the social justice monster his political generation created.

Bill must have been made aware of this, because just a day after the video went viral, he’s expressing remorse…kind of.

“So I did something yesterday in Philadelphia. I almost want to apologize for it, but I want to use it as an example of the danger threatening our country,” he said during a campaign speech in Philadelphia.

It might be too little too late for an apology, but it might not really matter. Those who would find any offense at daring to oppose Black Lives Matter are likely to be the under 30, millennial aged voters, and they’re primarily in Bernie Sander’s camp in the 80th percentile. Whether Bill will actually hurt Hillary’s chances remains to be seen. As it stands, Hillary has wrapped up the vote in many of the southern states already, where a large chunk of the black vote lives.

Either way, we should all just sit back and enjoy watching the Sith apprentices turn on their masters.
