The speed with which the press moves from glossing over its partisan failings to committing those same sins again never ceases to amaze. After a week of finally admitting that Joe Biden was mentally and physically unfit to serve as president (based on Jake Tapper's backside-covering book) and that a large-scale cover-up of his condition occurred, a sudden announcement changed everything.
As Redstate reported, the former president has aggressive, late-stage prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bone. President Donald Trump offered his prayers and support upon hearing the news, but when reporters asked him about the situation a day later, he offered justified skepticism about the announcement's timing.
SEE: Trump Has Some Questions About Biden's Cancer Diagnosis
To be clear, no one is suggesting that Biden doesn't have cancer or even that he chose to mislead the public about it. If all that's been exposed about his mental health is true, and the evidence makes that a certainty, then it's those around him, including his family members and former staff, who are on the hot seat. In short, why should anyone believe that this cancer diagnosis hasn't been known for years, given these people lied about every other part of his health?
Which brings me back to the press. When people naturally started asking questions about how long Biden's handlers have been aware he had cancer, the press rushed to show they've learned absolutely nothing in light of the revealed cover-up on his senility.
JD Vance wasted no time sharing his concerns that the former president was not “capable of doing the job” while in office—fueling the MAGA conspiracy about a “cover-up” of Biden’s health.

If you're wondering whether the media has learned anything, or if they would cover Biden differently if they had it to do over, the answer is no. pic.twitter.com/7AL6bvJGe6

Incredible. Just days before the cancer announcement, the audio of Biden's interview with Robert Hur proved that the White House not only grossly misled about the former president's health but that they viciously attacked those who dared to tell the truth. That would include Hur himself, who ended up completely vindicated about his assertions that Biden showed severe memory loss issues and incoherence.
But it's a "conspiracy theory" to wonder if those same people also hid this cancer diagnosis from the public in a sick attempt to hold onto power? Come on, that's laughable. If anything, it is improbable that they didn't know about it. A president's health is closely scrutinized, and Biden received a supposed clean bill of health in 2024 as he was running for re-election. Are we supposed to believe he got cancer and it advanced to this level in just the last few months? Especially when prostate cancer is typically slow-moving?
This would be a great time for the press to show they've learned something. They should be pressing those who were around Biden about what they knew and when. Instead, they are going right back to attacking those who dare to suggest the sky is blue, and it's absurd. The cover-up of Biden's health while in the White House is the biggest scandal in presidential history. A proper investigation into who was actually running the country during his term is needed, and that need doesn't go away because of this regrettable diagnosis. None of this is a "conspiracy theory."
