DNC Holds a Wild Candidate Forum, and Republicans May Never Lose Another Election

The Democratic National Committee is getting ready to hold elections on Saturday, and a laundry list of opportunists are lining up to snag roles. One of those is David Hogg, who is running for vice chair. Ken Martin, who currently runs the Minnesota DFL, and Ben Wikler, who is chairman of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, are the frontrunners to take the top spot of chairman.

So how are things going over at the DNC? Did they learn any lessons from their embarrassing defeats in 2024? Of course, they didn't. Instead, they are doubling down on all the intersectional, woke insanity that has left the Democratic Party at its lowest approval rating in history.

Sitting in front of a rainbow-adorned background, "diversity" was the central theme, with MSNBC flacks Jen Psaki and Jonathan Capehart asking questions of the candidates. Take a wild guess at how that went.

We are well past the point of this being a matter of Republicans being confident this stuff is an electoral loser. The empirical data tells us it is. The 2024 election saw Donald Trump come roaring back into the White House, winning the popular vote while heavily promoting an anti-woke agenda. Analysts in the press repeatedly claimed the now-president's ads on transgenderism that ended with "Kamala is for they/them, Trump is for you" (or some variation) would alienate people. Instead, they were the most effective ads of the cycle.

Democrats hinted at changing course on far-left identity insanity shortly after the election, but if the answers at this DNC forum are any indication, they've dropped that idea altogether and are going full-bore in the other direction.

CAPEHART: So I'm going to have a show of hands. How many of you believe that racism and misogyny played a role in Vice President Harris' defeat?

(All candidates raise their hands)

(Audience laughs)

CAPEHART: Okay, that's good. You all passed.

This entire article could just be me writing that they've learned absolutely nothing over and over. No other commentary is even needed. It's bad enough that Capehart claims to be an unbiased journalist (who can forget his meltdown with Hugh Hewitt?), but to blame racism and misogyny is just laughable. Trump increased his share of minority voters. Is the idea that black men were "racist" against Harris? Or that Hispanic women were "misogynistic?" The assertion is absurd.

Increasing the hilarity of the moment for Democrats, protesters repeatedly interrupted the forum.

What's the DNC's solution to the party's lack of connection with voters, specifically the working class? Once again they blame "misinformation" and "disinformation," with candidates suggesting a "war room" to combat it.

Democrats can't help but do the Principal Skinner meme again and again. You see, it's not that they are out of touch and completely unappealing to normal people due to their insane policy prescriptions and ideological viewpoints. It's just that people are too stupid to see how great they are and simply need to be fed better propaganda.

David Hogg echoed that sentiment when it was his turn to speak.

HOGG: As somebody who unfortunately now has a million followers on Twitter, that is becoming right-wing hellhole, I think we've got to get over this mentality in the party of saying, the people that are saying that it's not my job to educate you should not be in politics. Sorry, this is not a comfortable job guys. We can chose as Democrats to either live in a comfortable delusion, where we continue to lose, or we can chose to live in an uncomfortable reality and fight. That's what we did after Parkland. We didn't shy away from fighting for what we believe in. We stood up for it despite what everybody said, and we won.

Hang on. What exactly did Hogg win? The Second Amendment has been expanded across the country since the Parkland shooting (which would not have been prevented by any gun control proposals), with multiple states passing constitutional carry while there have been no significant crackdowns passed at the national level.

You have to understand, though, that winning for someone like Hogg is getting likes on social media and backslaps on MSNBC. It's not actually winning elections and enacting policies. That's why he's so uniquely unqualified to hold a leadership position for a political party, but the current state of the DNC makes him a viable option.

Wrapping things up, if you want a summary of the entire night, here's how one Democrat campaign operative put it.

But hey, if Democrats want to keep banging the woke drum, I'd encourage them to do it. Republicans may never lose another election if they keep this up.
