Karine Jean-Pierre Completely Bungles Condolences for Three Killed U.S. Soldiers

Tensions have exploded in the Middle East following the killing of three U.S. servicemembers by Iran and its proxies. The attack occurred on a military base in Jordan, leaving the Biden administration stumbling for a response after it spent years propping up and enriching the Mullahs.

Do you know who you shouldn't send out to comment when you're stumbling for a response? That would be Karine Jean-Pierre, the worst press secretary since the invention of the position. While appearing on MSNBC, she managed to both bungle giving condolences to and insult the service of the deceased.

JEAN-PIERRE: What I will say, obviously our deepest condolences go out, and our heartfelt condolences go out to the families who lost, three, three brave, uh, three brave, uh, three brave of, uh, three folks who are military folks, who are brave, who are always fighting, who are fighting on behalf of this administration, of the American people, obviously moreso, more importantly.

If you want to know why John Kirby has been doing a lot of the heavy lifting lately, especially regarding important international issues, that clip is a prime example of why. For all the whining Jean-Pierre and her supporters have done behind the scenes, claiming that she's been unfairly sidelined, it's obvious she's just objectively awful at her job. That she's only marginally more coherent when she has a binder to read verbatim from doesn't make the situation any better.

Where do you even begin in trying to break down that excerpt? It's as if Jean-Pierre has been taking speaking lessons from Kamala Harris. The inauthenticity and lack of actual care just ooze through the screen as she fumbles to deliver her canned line. Everything about the Biden administration just screams cynicism and self-promotion.

These three soldiers weren't fighting "on behalf of this administration." As she quickly tried to correct, they were fighting on behalf of the United States of America and its people. Presidents aren't dictators, and while they hold a place in the chain of command, members of the military are not fighting for them. That Jean-Pierre's first thought went there is telling. The Biden administration sees everyone as subservient to their goals. It's why they thought the Border Patrol would start arresting Texas National Guard soldiers for daring to try to secure the border.

What does Jean-Pierre have to do to get fired? She's already been partially replaced by Kirby, and when she does still show up to answer questions, it turns into a slow-motion disaster. Just boot her and get someone who can handle the job. Jen Psaki was extremely dishonest, but at least she knew how to formulate an answer.
