Unbelievable Footage: Ukrainian Politician Casually Sets Off Grenades During Council Meeting

In a scene that was all shockingly caught on tape, a man entered a council meeting in Ukraine and started casually setting off grenades just mere feet from dozens of people. Perhaps out of disbelief or thinking he was joking, no one even thought to run as he dropped them onto the floor.

This particular version of the video has some parts blurred out which should ensure it stays up. There are uncensored versions on X, but they will likely be taken down due to the terms of service.

In the video, you see the man walk into the small room, apparently being familiar to everyone present. He stands by the door for several seconds as one woman continues to speak. He then starts taking grenades out of his pocket, arming them, and tossing them onto the floor. At no point does the camera filming the meeting go out and the entire scene is captured.

According to Interfax Ukraine, a long-standing news outlet based in Kyiv, the incident occurred in the village of Zakarpattia. Perhaps the reason no one reacted was that the man was a local deputy (the political variant). At least one person died as a result with injury claims ranging from 11 to 26, depending on the source.

"Today at 11.37, line 102 received a message that one of the deputies exploded grenades in the building of Keretsky village council of Mukachevo district during a session meeting," the National Police said in on its Facebook page.
"According to preliminary information, as a result of the explosion, one person, the fuse itself, was killed, and 11 more people were injured," the National Police said.

I would tend to doubt the idea that the only person who died was the deputy. The grenades were set off within inches of several people. Regardless, no motive for the attacker's actions has been released. This is a developing story, and more details will likely be forthcoming.
