While Israel and Hamas are currently in a ceasefire as hostages are traded for terrorists, a resumption of hostilities appears to be all but inevitable. With the continuation of the campaign to destroy Gaza's terrorist government likely to resume within days, this would be a good time for the United States to express some resolve, or at the very least, stay out of the way. 

Unfortunately, Joe Biden is president so we got the following delusional, destructive statement instead. 

Hamas unleashed a terrorist attack because they fear nothing more than Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in peace.

To continue down the path of terror, violence, killing, and war is to give Hamas what they seek.

If Biden was trying to give Hamas exactly what they wanted, what would he be doing differently? And I realize he likely never even saw that post, but he's still responsible for whatever handler came up with it and hit send. 

For one, the idea that Palestinians want to live side by side in peace is supported by no evidence whatsoever and is countered by plenty of it. As RedState recently reported, the first polling of Gaza and the West Bank since the October 7th attacks showed that a whopping 75 percent of respondents support the massacre of civilians that occurred. Further, the terrorist government behind the attack, Hamas, garnered a 76 percent approval rating. 

As I've discussed before, it is patently absurd to pretend that most Palestinians don't support Hamas and simply want to live in a secular utopia with Jews as their neighbors. Every piece of objective data we have says that's not true. Saying that may make some people uncomfortable because they want to believe that all cultures are created equal and share the same general ideals, but they aren't and they don't. 

Then there's the idea that continuing the war is "to give Hamas what they seek." That line is so absurd that I have to assume some wet-behind-the-ears intern trying to sound profound came up with it. What Hamas wants is a long-term ceasefire that maintains its power base and gives it time to rearm and plan more attacks on Israel. To stop fighting now is actually "to give Hamas what they seek." Any suggestion otherwise is completely nonsensical. 

What we are seeing is Biden folding to the pressure from his left flank. His party is full of deranged supporters of terrorism who see everything through the ridiculous lens of intersectionality. In their view, poverty and skin color dictate victimhood, not the actual facts on the ground. It doesn't matter that Islam has almost exclusively been an arm of oppression throughout history. Because Muslims are generally poor and not white (at least in the eyes of the left), they must be oppressed. 

With all that said, it's possible that Biden's syntax was just off here and his second line was actually a critique of Palestinian attitudes and behaviors. I can't assume that, though, given he's already started to make concessions to the "ceasefire now" lunatics. Thus, I must assume his statement means what it sounds like it means. 

Israel should ignore Biden. This is not the time to stop the war because to do so would simply cost more lives in the future. Hamas is on the ropes, and when you have a chance to finish off a terrorist entity, you better take it.
