Joe Rogan Roasts Dylan Mulvaney's Response to the Bud Light Controversy

Bud Light continues to suffer the consequences of dipping its toe into the culture wars. The beer giant has lost billions of dollars in potential sales in the months following its partnership with controversial transgender “influencer” Dylan Mulvaney.

Mulvaney finally responded last Thursday, suggesting that he was the victim in the saga.

“For a company to hire a trans person and then not publicly stand by them is worse than not hiring a trans person at all,” Mulvaney, 26, said in the clip.

“And I was scared, and I was scared of more backlash, and I felt personally guilty for what transpired, so I patiently waited for things to get better,” Mulvaney added. “But surprise, they didn’t. And I was waiting for the brand to reach out to me, but they never did.”

In response, instead of apologizing to its customer base, Annheuser-Busch seemed to be offended by Mulvaney’s criticism. That led to the following double-down.

The brewing giant said it is “committed to the programs and partnerships we have forged over decades with organizations across a number of communities, including those in the LGBTQ+ community,” a spokesperson told the Daily Beast late Thursday.

Bud Light’s thighs must be sore from all that fence-straddling. Consistently throughout this controversy, the company has sought to play both sides, unwilling to just state the obvious out loud: It was a mistake to partner with a deranged man who mocks womanhood for a living.

That leads me to Joe Rogan’s latest comments on the situation (The New York Post).

Joe Rogan once again took a shot at Dylan Mulvaney, calling the trans influencer “mentally ill” and an “attention whore” after the social media star broke her silence about the Bud Light boycott.

Rogan made the comment during Thursday’s episode of the Spotify podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” which featured an interview with rapper-actor Ice Cube.

The two-and-a-half-hour conversation between Rogan and Ice Cube eventually touched on the Bud Light controversy.

“The only time [capital] respects opinions is when people boycott s–t and it works like this Bud Light thing, and now people are like, ‘Don’t do that again,’” Rogan said, alluding to the steep drop in sales of the brand since Mulvaney started touting the beer on her social media accounts on April 1.

Can I just go on a bit of a tangent here before I get to the meat of this article? Why do outlets that garner clicks and make money off publishing stories pointing out the absurdity of transgenderism then give up its premise? Fox News also does this, and it’s insulting to one’s readers. Mulvaney is not a “she.” He is a man, and even if one supports transgenderism as a form of personal freedom, the reality of the situation remains.

But I digress, Rogan calls Mulvaney “mentally ill” and an “attention whore” before he and Ice Cube had the following exchange.

“Who controls Bud Light? That’s the question,” Ice Cube replied.

“Why would they make a dumb decision like that? Are they trying to ruin Bud Light? Are they trying to take down some of our most iconic American brands?”

That’s the question, isn’t it? Who controls Bud Light? Who exercises so much control over corporate America that these companies would rather self-destruct than not promote the trans-lobby?

Rogan is thinking too simplistically. This wasn’t just a “dumb decision.” If it were, it could be easily explained, but Bud Light’s continued doubling down, both directly and via obfuscation, says we are well past the “dumb decision” excuse. Dumb decisions are rectified with an apology and a change of direction, not with yet more knee-bending about how much Bud Light still supports the “LGBTQ+ community.”

This also isn’t about some plot to “take down some of our most iconic American brands.” Quite the opposite, in fact.

Bud Light, like so many companies, would rather take a massive financial that essentially nukes their brand than not pander to the far left. That’s pretty insane, right? But it shows how deep this goes. This isn’t about some genuine care for transgenderism. It’s about making sure a company’s ESG score remains high enough to garner future capital.

Do you know what you call that? You call that power, and it’s exclusively held by the left on a global scale. I’d say that’s a bit worrisome going forward.
