It’s almost like this whole thing is coordinated?
Today, a new talking point emerged in the media with the intention of pushing back on the sexual assault allegation made against Joe Biden. Tara Reade’s story has dominated the news the last week, as the press finally were pushed to the point where they couldn’t ignore it anymore. All it took were no less than five corroborating accounts from the time of the alleged assault to do it. Compare that to the standard they held for Justice Kavanaugh if you’d like a good laugh.
With that mention of Kavanaugh, see if you can spot the issue with the latest media push to silence Reade.
I ran VP nominee operations for Obama campaign in 08. When Biden was selected I served as his Chief of Staff. NO sexual assault or harassment allegation ever came up against him. It was an exhaustive vet https://t.co/GJsuPYAz3e

“Anyone we thought could have damaging information, we found them,” lawyer who vetted Biden in ‘08 tells @tylerpager. “We presented everything we found to Obama and his team and they selected him. That does tell you that there was nothing serious.” https://t.co/Z2L0QGyEi7

Before @JoeBiden was selected VP by @BarackObama, vetters for the campaign scoured every aspect of his record, career and life. Tara Reade or complaints of sexual harassment or assault never came up. I know. I was there.
Here are my recollections:https://t.co/eBwX0ji6ao— David Axelrod (@davidaxelrod) May 2, 2020
You know who else was thoroughly vetted before a sexual assault allegation was made against him, one which had never been uncovered before? Yes, that would be Kavanaugh, who went through six different background checks throughout his career prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court. Not once was there any indication he had sexually assaulted Christine Blasey Ford.
Despite that, we were told by every media outlet, as well as nearly all prominent Democrats, that it didn’t matter. That you couldn’t expect someone who had been abused to come forward until they felt the time was right. Yet, Reade is not being given that kind of benefit of the doubt at all. In fact, the most common refrain I see to her allegation is that the timing is suspicious. How the times have changed, right?
Further, the idea that any vetting of Biden in 2008 included a complete search of his Senatorial records, which you would need months to do even if you had a team of researchers, is laughable. Of course, that didn’t happen and you’ll note in these news claims by Biden’s lackeys that they are careful to not stipulate exactly how far-reaching their vetting process was. Instead, they use nebulous words like “thorough.”
And here’s the reality: The media had to be dragged to this story for exactly that reason. “Well Obama didn’t find anything. Good enough for us!” So this latest new narrative shouldn’t be a surprise.

Regardless, consistency here demands that Biden be investigated by the FBI. Would he and the DNC accept that? I’m going to go ahead and doubt it.
Look, I don’t know if Reade’s allegation is true. What I do know is that the treatment of her has been worlds different than anyone who’s ever accused a Republican of doing anything, not just sexual assault. It’s a travesty that she can’t even get an interview on a major news station, but Julie Swetnick was trotted onto NBC News with no evidence of her claims at all.
The double standards and hypocrisy are stunning, but not surprising.
