How is this person a Congressional member?
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to Instagram last night. While that normally wouldn’t be big news (she’s always whining on there about something), what she said in this particular rant is noteworthy. In it, we see the Congresswoman from New York encouraging people to go on rent strikes in the middle of a pandemic. Oh yeah, and capitalism is evil or something.
AOC is currently on Instagram live encouraging people to refuse to pay their rent and engage in organized rent strikes. She then went on a rant about how capitalism is to blame for people making money off of owning property.

Yes, let’s tell people to organize “rent strikes” while landlords are struggling to pay their mortgages. I’m sure that’ll end well and not with thousands of people getting evicted from their homes. Will AOC be there to provide them shelter? Further, will she be joining this rent strike by not paying for her luxury D.C. condo? I’m going to guess not.
It’s like she thinks money just appears out of thin air. Actually, that’s exactly what she believes I suppose. The disregard for ownership of property, a core tenant of our constitutional bargain, is also pretty incredible, but not at all surprising.
Later, she’d manage to shove in an argument about sexism and racism.

Calling people sexist and racist is a sure way to win them over to your side, right? This woman is just insufferable. It’s a testament to how ill-informed and under equipped voters can be in choosing their representatives.
As a comparison, try to imagine how the media would respond if Trump went out and told people to do something as dangerous as organize rent strikes while the country is being ravaged by a virus. But AOC is one of the chosen ones, so she’ll get no push-back, only more praise and magazine covers. When she runs for president in 2024, it’s going to be absolutely insane.
