In this Jan. 22, 2020, photo released on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, by China’s Xinhua News Agency, medical workers of the Union Hospital with the Tongji Medical College of the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan participate in a ceremony to form an “assault team” to battle against a coronavirus epidemic in Wuhan in central China’s Hubei Province, Jan. 23, 2020. China closed off a city of more than 11 million people Thursday in an unprecedented effort to try to contain a deadly new viral illness that has sickened hundreds and spread to other cities and countries in the Lunar New Year travel rush. Someone should tell these people that the origin is right there in the name.

The Chinese are doing what the Chinese do, namely spreading ridiculous conspiracy theories in order to shift blame from the dumpster fire that is their communist government. Here’s the spokesperson for the Communist Party suggesting that it was the U.S. Army that gave them Wuhan Coronavirus.

Ah yes, because if there’s one thing the U.S. Army is known for, it’s infiltrating China and planting diseases. Meanwhile, reality still dictates that this absolutely started in Wuhan, China. It’s also still possible that this was a virus released by mistake, as Wuhan is home to China’s largest infectious disease facility.

Further, this nonsensical allegation assumes that the U.S. wanted to crash their own stock market. It’s just idiocy all around, but it’s par for the course for the Chinese. Let’s also not forget that the U.S. offered help very early on and the Chinese rejected it in an attempt to cover up the seriousness of the situation.

As a reminder, Joe Biden and the Democratic party continue to suggest that China is not a threat, but the realities of their behavior don’t bear that out. This is a country that holds way more leverage over us than they should, and the politicians who put us in this situation should never be close to the levers of power again. It’s astonishing to me that anyone still maintains that completely “free” trade with China is a good idea. Access to cheap products should not trump our national security, but the Washington conventional wisdom continues to worship the former.

There is simply no greater threat to the long term survival and stability of the United States than China. It’s high time we start treating them as such.

Of course, it’s hard to do that when our media run interference for them constantly. Take this pearl-clutching by a journalist when Tom Cotton rightly suggested China would pay for how they’ve handled the Wuhan flu.

Sometimes, I wonder how much President Xi is paying these outlets. We’ve seen full-scale propaganda buys from the Chinese disguised as news stories printed in U.S. newspapers before so it’s not that far-fetched.

Then there are those who are just outright fluffing the communists to own the orange man.

This is why it’s so important to keep calling this the Wuhan virus/Coronavirus/flu. The Chinese can not be allowed to succeed in whitewashing what happened. They are waging an information war right now and the left in this country, including much of the media, are playing the role of useful idiots. But when the media’s only standard is “can I bash Trump with this?” they’ll ally with just about anyone to accomplish that goal. It’s gross, but expected.
