Earlier today, Republicans barged in on Adam Schiff’s sham impeachment investigation, which he is inexplicably holding in the Capitol’s SCIF. That would be the room that is supposed to be used to share and view classified information among members of Congress.

Schiff has no actual reason to be using the room and he’s essentially using it as his own personal shield. A way to keep the public and Republicans in the dark as he selectively leaks information to the press to push his narrative.

While many people wringing their hands over the Republican move was predictable, some of the claims crossed the border into absurd.

Take this one for example.

But in "storming the SCIF" without observing the security protocols, Rep. Gaetz et al, endangered our national security & demonstrated they care more about a political stunt than protecting intelligence information.

This is laughably ridiculous. The SCIF is not some secret dungeon lair containing all of America’s deepest secrets. It’s simply a room with secure communications and guidelines to protect classified information when it’s actually be transmitted inside.

The problem? Nothing Schiff is doing is actually classified or sensitive, ergo there is no national security threat presented here. It’s like claiming someone might drown by walking into a drained pool. The SCIF is checked after every use to ensure there’s nothing compromised anyway.

I think these people think the SCIF is like some secret dungeon full of files on who killed Kennedy and the nuclear codes.

Some on the right also chose to lose their minds over this as well but we’ll save that for another article.

The main point here is this. The country’s national security is going to be just fine after some Congressional members entered a room not even containing classified proceedings. Relax. This entire proceeding by Schiff is a sham and everyone knows it. He’s trying to hide behind classification that doesn’t actually exist while shutting everyone out of the process so he can set the narrative. Worse, he’s not even on the Judiciary Committee, who are supposed to be leading any impeachment investigation. Republicans did the right thing today but shaking things up. Sitting around and fretting on Twitter was no longer an option given the Democrat’s actions.
