Over the past two weeks, we’ve suffered through an onslaught of news surrounding President Trump and Ukraine. Breaking news story after breaking news story, many of which have turned out to be false of misleading, have led the way. The media have been absolutely rabid and perhaps even worse than during the Mueller investigation. You can see some of the things they go wrong just leading up to the call transcript’s release at my piece here.

To say they’ve not covered themselves in glory is an understatement. Since then we’ve had Democrats like Rep. Adam Schiff lie in hearings and Sen. Chris Murphy make up things about meetings with Ukraine to support the narrative. There is no length they won’t go to.

To all that, I’ve got this say: Impeach Trump.

Enough talk, more action. Americans are sick and tired of the baseless supposition, false reports, misleading characterizations, and gaslighting. It’s time to do this thing. If you were to poll me right now on whether I support impeachment, I’d answer yes, 100%. Democrats don’t get to do this for another year.

And no, I’m not talking about an “impeachment inquiry,” because those don’t actually exist. It’s nonsense posturing for what is actually just another committee investigation. Pass articles of impeachment, unleash the powers that come with that, and prove your case. Enough of Rashida Tlaib cussing about impeachment and Maxine Waters getting softball interviews on CNN. Give them what they want and put your money where your mouth is.

Nancy Pelosi is slow walking this on purpose. She knows there’s nothing there. It is not illegal, nor improper for a president to ask about an investigation into possible corruption. There was no quid pro quo or pressure. Just a short, passing request. It is also not illegal, nor improper for a president to store classified calls on a classified system after a myriad of leaks had harmed the administration. We are being told stopping at a stop sign is now a moving violation and I want to see Democrats defend all this out in the open.

Today I’m showing some love to @RepMaxineWaters + @RashidaTlaib, who endured the brunt of gaslighting & vitriol for being among the first to recognize WH corruption & publicly advocate for impeachment, making it easier for the rest of us.

So do it already. Make Trump’s day.

Republican lawmakers should support this as well. It’s time for them to stop being scared of their own shadow. Tell Democrats to impeach and put their game face on. We can’t live in this middle ground any longer. It’s ripping the country apart and destroying what little sanity was left in our legislative system. We’ve been dancing around this for almost three years now. Every day there’s some new scandal, some new push for impeachment. Let Schiff, Pelosi, Nadler, and whoever else actually defend themselves for once. No more Sunday shows and back slap sessions with Jake Tapper. That’s a cowards way out. If they want to take Trump out, it’s time for them to take their shot.

Enough of the soft coup, let’s get to the hard stuff.
