Apparently, people still pay Hillary Clinton to talk, which seems like a pretty bad investment, but hey, it’s not my money.
She appeared at Wellesley College on Saturday to speak and decided that pretending we are in the throes of 1930s Germany was a good road to go down. There’s of course no evidence of that, but that didn’t stop her from saying stuff like this.
Hillary Clinton warned during an alumnae event Saturday at Wellesley College that fascism is coming to America. She cited Madeline Albright’s book, “Fascism: A Warning,” and sounded the alarm: “The idea that it can’t happen here is just old fashioned, my friends.”
“The demagoguery, the appeal to the crowd, the very clever use of symbols, the intimidation, verbal and physical,” she said. “This is a classic pattern. There is nothing new about it, it is just different means of messages being delivered.”
Is she talking about Democrats and Anitfa? I got confused for a second there.
She goes on to them make one of the least self-aware comments of the year.
She did not use the president’s name but said: “There is nothing normal about undermining the rule of law. There is nothing normal about attacking the press. There is nothing normal about trying to undermine another branch of government. There is nothing normal about trying to use the political system to go after your enemies. There is nothing normal about any of that.”
If she were describing herself (and her party), what would she say differently?
We know, confirmed as recently as last week, that Hillary Clinton undermined the rule of law. She had clearly broken criminal statutes regarding the handling of classified information, the FBI knew it, and James Comey whitewashed the investigation anyway.
On undermining another branch of government, Barack Obama stonewalled Congress his entire presidency. Democrats also routinely attack the Supreme Court, to the point where 2020 candidates are promising to stack it with liberal ideologues because they don’t like the current outcomes.
Her final assertion is the most hilarious though. She says “political system,” accusing Trump of using it go after his enemies, but I’m pretty sure she means the legal system used for political means. Either that or she’s going senile.
Was she alive in 2016? Or does she really think people are just too dumb to see the incredible hypocrisy in that accusation? That’s exactly what the Obama administration did, on multiple levels, throughout the last election cycle. It was Hillary who funded the Steele dossier, which was then fed to the FBI via very deliberate means. But let Bill Barr start an investigation into how all that corruption happened? Well, we just can’t have that.
It’s so blatantly political and partisan that it’s hard to read with a straight face. Comparing Trump or any current political movement within this country to fascism and Hitler (which she does further down in the speech) is just nonsensical garbage. It’s fearmongering of the worst kind and a cheap attempt to paint political opponents as “evil,” to the point where Democrats don’t have to actually defend their positions.
Consider this speech yet another reminder of why Hillary isn’t President today. She’s a charisma-less, robotic politician who will say anything to garner plaudits. It’s that lack authenticity that doomed her against Donald Trump. Look on the bright side though. She’ll always have long walks in the woods to fall back on.
