The Democrats claim they’re against political violence, but their incendiary rhetoric says otherwise.
Remember New York Dem Sen. Chuck Schumer in 2020, attacking the Supreme Court? Since then, we’ve seen increased threats against justices, including a 2022 assassination attempt against Brett Kavanaugh.
“I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”
It’s become a regular staple in interviews and speeches by leftist politicians to call ICE agents “the Gestapo,” Brownshirts and worse. The predictable effect? A massive rise in threats against law enforcement.
They’ll tell you that what Michigan Democrat Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed said in a fiery — meaning incredibly obnoxious and vitriolic — speech Wednesday following his Tuesday night primary victory is just standard speechifying and not at all incendiary.
It was directed at his Republican opponent, former congressman Mike Rogers, and it sure sounds like a call to violence to me:
El-Sayed ended his remarks by publicly challenging Rogers to a series of debates but taunting that he believed his rival was too much of a “coward” to accept: “So, Mike I’m going to say it right here, I know you’re gonna say no because you are a coward – Five debates! Alright?” he said. “If you’re willing to stand with me and have a conversation, you and I both know that you will wither in front of your own crimes.”
He continued: “But I’m gonna make sure Michiganders know about them, because by the time we’re done, you are not going to have safe quarter from people holding you accountable to what you’ve done for them here in Michigan. We will send you back to Florida where you belong.”

No safe quarter? Are you kidding me? That certainly could be interpreted as an out-and-out call to violence.
Imagine a Republican telling a Democrat he has no ‘safe quarter’ anywhere in a state. The media would call it incitement within the hour. Abdul El-Sayed says it about Mike Rogers and it is treated as a campaign speech.

In March, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth used the "no quarter" phrase, which means “no mercy” and is derived from a military term, when talking about the conflict with Iran. CNN was predictably outraged. Do you think they’ll be bothered that El-Sayed used it?

Since the early 1600s, “quarter” has also meant the act of showing mercy and sparing the life of an adversary who surrenders in battle. In this context, it’s more common to see “quarter” used in the negative, in the phrase “no quarter,” as in Hegseth’s comment. The phrase is widely understood to mean taking no prisoners, or rejecting an opponent’s surrender and killing them instead.

It’s hardly a surprise that we’ve seen an uptick in political violence when trash talk like this is the order of the day for radical Democrats and socialists. Earlier Wednesday, we reported on a heavily armed fake security agent scoping out the Trump National Golf Course Los Angeles in advance of the president’s visit. It has not been officially announced what he was up to, but it’s a pretty safe bet to say he wasn’t stopping by to get an autograph.
The Democrats keep calling for violence, and they keep getting it. El-Sayed’s nomination isn’t yet a day old, and he’s already acting like an unhinged agitator. Michiganders better pay attention.
