Viral Social Media Post Asks: What Video Defines 'Peak Woke?' The Internet Reopens the Vault of Cringe

“What’s a video that defines ‘peak woke?’”

That’s the question the X account End Wokeness asked Sunday, and it clearly struck a nerve, because the post has been viewed a whopping 19.4 million times. That is the definition of viral, folks.

My vote goes to this video by DNC Spokesman — er, I’m sorry, cancelled late-night TV host — Stephen Colbert, who aired one of the most cringe-worthy and obnoxious moments ever to appear on your telly. It was a huge middle finger to millions of Americans, it was pandering and shaming, and it was a giant commercial for Big Pharma.

It still makes me nauseated to this day:

Good riddance, Steve.

But commenters had their own favorites, and it’s like going down memory lane of just how infectious the woke-mind virus became in recent years. One reason I wrote a VIP called “Have We Forgotten… So Quickly?” on Monday is because we can never forget what we went through in the Biden years, and we can never let it happen again.

So let’s reminisce over these all-timers, and let’s mock the idiots who created the moments. Who better to get the party started than former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot? Watch as she puts on a mask after she's come outside. How dumb is that?

Lori and her comrade cosplayed as caring neighbors — even as they were trying to shut down every aspect of normal life. Not cute.

This next one was a crowd favorite, because watching AOC and Co. in their "Choose Your Fighter" Super Smash Bros parody was like watching a car crash, it was so bad:

Although technically this next commenter didn’t supply a video, we’ll cut him slack because he posted what is perhaps one of the most nauseating moments in U.S. history — led of course by then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Gag me with a spoon:

This Harris-Walz gem from the 2024 presidential campaign gives us Reason #59,207 why they lost: they were completely out of touch. These virtue-signaling weirdos trying to convince you of their masculinity are so fake that AI would be unimpressed, and I sure as hell wouldn’t want to grab a beer with a single one of these faux "dudes."

So many to pick from! Our next contributor saves us time by gathering a bunch of howling, out-of-control leftists, all in one clip. Thanks for doing the legwork, @Nocte_Insanire.

If you don’t think a large proportion of the woke crowd has lost their ever-loving minds, this might convince you otherwise:

Boy, it was hard to choose here. There was former U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health Dr. Rachel Levine, a man in a skirt pretending to be a woman, explaining how climate change impacts black people more than anyone else. There’s then-teenage activist Greta Thunberg screaming at adults even though she turned out to know nothing. Don’t forget Nina Jankowicz, who had a short-lived stint as executive director of Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board, singing about how she couldn’t wait to censor you. The list goes on.

I’ll leave you with perhaps the most colossal corporate faceplant of the decade: the Bud Light debacle. If you’re a regular RedState reader, you know all about it, and no introduction is necessary:

Many of these videos may evoke a chuckle because they and the people in them are so ludicrous, but the movement actually brought (and still brings) much harm to the country. It encourages institutional racism with its insidious DEI efforts, it forced people (those who were willing, anyway) to say things that simply weren’t true ("that strapping biological man over there is a actually a woman"), it caused the acceptance within a certain class of extremists to advocate for performing gender surgeries on confused minors, and its COVID tyranny caused many to lose their jobs and/or split with their families.

The movement has been insulting, ridiculous, discriminatory, and so much more — but mostly worthy of sustained and justified mockery, because that is one way to expedite its demise. Like the handle of the original poster says, it’s far past time to “End Wokeness.”
