The public shaming over that leftist labor hero, the late United Farm Workers Union co-founder César Chávez, has continued apace as detestable allegations of child sexual abuse and even rape have been making the rounds following a New York Times exposé published on Wednesday.
The accusations by his former ally, Dolores Huerta, are horrific and have caused celebrations of the planned March 31st "César Chávez Day" in multiple states to be altered or canceled outright. Consternation among Democrats has been cringeworthy as they mull what to do about the hundreds of roads, schools, and parks named after him, much less the myriad colorful murals covering numerous buildings in places like Los Angeles.
Multi-hued paintings of the late leader suddenly have poor optics when you consider he may have been a predatory pedophile. It’s a sordid story, to be sure, and has ruined the reputation of a minutes-ago leftist hero.
But why now? What changed? Hollywood sex predator Harvey Weinstein is still alive (though rotting in Rikers Island), but this Chávez guy died in 1993.

Drama in United Farm Workers Union As Late Co-Founder César Chávez Accused of Disturbing Sex Crimes
Whispers about his conduct had been flowing for years, but now, we’re suddenly supposed to believe that this is stunningly unearthed new information? The UFW has denied any knowledge of his misdeeds and distanced themselves from his name within seconds when the scandal broke, but we’re really expected to buy into the idea that, after all those decades of rumors, they never had the slightest clue?
Here is some of the speculation we’re seeing regarding the odd timing of this “news”:
- The NY Times had been working on this story for years, and only finally printed their conclusions now.
Yeah, my BS meter is on high alert for this theory, because there’s no way they could have kept any secret knowledge under wraps for long periods of time had they had the smoking gun. The egos at the formerly great outlet are simply too big, and someone would have surely leaked it had they had the goods. - It’s an inside job by the UFW and their allied Democrats because they wanted to distance themselves from the narrative-busting fact that Chávez was vehemently against illegal immigration and, in fact, regularly called border crossers “wetbacks.”
His views fly in the face of the current progressive mantra of their “let them all in” border philosophy, so if his legacy needs to be ruined, so be it.
I give credence to this theory because the Left is just that savage, maniacal, and willing to throw anyone under the bus who doesn’t serve their radical visions. - This could only happen in the present day, because Chávez’s longtime ally and co-founder of the UFW, 95-year-old Dolores Huerta, is only now willing to go on record saying that he raped her in her youth. She claims she kept silent all these years because she didn’t want to hurt the farm worker movement.
How absolutely disgusting, if I may say so. She was willing to put little girls at risk of sexual abuse and not speak out because she was more worried about some socialist movement than she was about them? She may be ending the sunset days of her life, and we’re supposed to be graceful toward our elders, but I’m having a hard time finding much sympathy for her decades-long silence. - This is all a distraction by Trump and Co. to pull focus away from the Epstein files.
I won’t waste any more pixels on this one, because it’s the realm of conspiracy theorist underpants guys in their basements.
Pick your theory; several are plausible. The bottom line is this is coming out 33 years later, and that is frankly weird. It certainly seems like a coordinated effort to bring down a guy who died decades ago. Of course, as a father, I’m certainly disgusted by his alleged activities, but the timing is beyond suspect.
The question isn’t, why are you reporting this now, but, Why weren’t you reporting it then? The evidence was there.
When a harsh fact gets in the way of a Leftist Hero narrative, the modus operandi for the mainstream media is to turn away and focus on something else, and cover for them.
Until they no longer serve their needs.
Evidently, César is now worthy of the chum bucket for the sharks because he no longer serves "The Cause."
One is left to wonder, who is more depraved? Chávez for his suspected perversions, or those who turned a blind eye to it for decades?
