U.S. Customs and Border Protection would seem to have enough problems already, what with Democrat leaders constantly calling for violence against law enforcement and rabid protesters mobbing every action that the Department of Homeland Security carries out to enforce the nation’s immigration laws.
But it turns out they have another problem to deal with: a leaker.
The Department of Homeland Security fired a senior Customs and Border Protection official on Thursday after it was revealed that the officer had been allegedly leaking sensitive, personal information about CBP personnel, as well as negotiations regarding the border wall to the press, sources within the department told Fox News Digital.
The official, who was unnamed, was marched out of his CBP office in Washington D.C., after DHS discovered the leak, sources said.
Federal law enforcement has already been under assault from crazed leftists, but it's galling that someone was providing them with inside information, assisting the agitators in their quest for violence:
"As DHS law enforcement face an 8,000% increase in death threats, leaking law enforcement sensitive information is abhorrently dangerous," a DHS spokesperson told Fox News Digital. "DHS is agnostic about your standing, tenure, political appointment, or status as a career civil servant — we will track down leakers and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law."
DHS Senior Advisor Corey Lewandowski posted to X that all leakers should be wary, because the department is coming for them:

As we’ve reported, DHS agents in various branches like ICE and CBP have been hounded by threats, intimidation tactics, doxing, and more, as leftist leaders have turned up the rhetoric to 11 and are doing everything in their power to thwart efforts by Trump to undo the damage done by former President Joe Biden’s “leave the door wide open” immigration policy. Democrats often like to say that “we are a nation of laws” and that “no one is above the law,” but when it comes to illegal immigrants, they consider them to be very much above the law.
They can’t even call them what they are, for Pete’s sake.

Democrats are hell-bent on neutering DHS even more, demanding in budget negotiations that agents put their last name, ID, and service branch on their uniforms and keep their faces uncovered. As I asked in a previous story, will they ask them to display their home addresses and children’s names, too? And where’s the part in their negotiations where they demand that Antifa take off their omnipresent black masks?
This is another disturbing Deep State development and proves that there are still active cells within the government trying to undermine the president’s agenda. It’s not clear what consequences this slippery leaker will face, but we can hope they will be considerable.
