'Clean Sweep': RFK Jr. Sends Entire 17-Member CDC Vaccine Advisory Committee Packing

I was never a vaccine skeptic—in fact, I never gave a whole lot of thought to them, to be honest.

That is, until the experimental mRNA COVID vaccines came along and it quickly became apparent that our overlords were lying to us about both the efficacy of the shots and the health risks. I haven’t trusted a single word out of the Centers for Disease Control since.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wants to change all that and restore trust, and toward that effort he announced Monday that he is getting rid of all 17 members of the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP), which advises the CDC on the “the safety, efficacy and clinical need of the nation’s vaccines.”

In an editorial for the Wall Street Journal, the HHS director explained why he’s making such a bold move:

Vaccines have become a divisive issue in American politics, but there is one thing all parties can agree on: The U.S. faces a crisis of public trust. Whether toward health agencies, pharmaceutical companies or vaccines themselves, public confidence is waning.

You got that right, Mr. Secretary. He continued:

Today, we are taking a bold step in restoring public trust by totally reconstituting the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP). We are retiring the 17 current members of the committee, some of whom were last-minute appointees of the Biden administration. Without removing the current members, the current Trump administration would not have been able to appoint a majority of new members until 2028.

Alex Berenson, author of “Pandemia: How Coronavirus Hysteria Took Over Our Government, Rights, and Lives" and a critic of many of the COVID responses by government entities (for which he was booted from Twitter before Elon Musk took over and reinstated him), was pleased by the news:

RFK went on to say that the (former) members of the committee weren’t necessarily corrupt, but they “have received substantial funding from pharmaceutical companies, including those marketing vaccines.” He vowed that the new members, whom he will choose, will not work directly for the vax industry, and that a new start is necessary:

A clean sweep is needed to re-establish public confidence in vaccine science. In the 1960s, the world sought guidance from America’s health regulators, who had a reputation for integrity, scientific impartiality and zealous defense of patient welfare.

His overarching goal? To restore the public’s confidence in our health agencies.

Public trust has since collapsed, but we will earn it back.

That's a tall order, considering how badly they harmed their credibility during the pandemic, but it would certainly be a major feat if he could pull it off.
