I used to live in New York City, but I’m glad I’m not there this week. Between the Trump “hush money” trial and the pro-Hamas demonstrations, it’s been pretty chaotic in the Big Apple.
It got even more anarchic Tuesday when over 1,000 illegal aliens of African descent descended on City Hall to demand more financial and housing assistance. Many were reportedly falsely promised that they would receive green cards or work visas:
About 1,300 African migrants gathered outside City Hall Tuesday morning hoping to appear at a hearing on the black experience in the city shelter system — with some saying they were promised work visas or green cards if they showed.
Only 250 people were allowed inside for the 10 a.m. hearing, while the hundreds of others who flocked downtown were left outside in a park, where footage showed them chanting and cheering.
The crowd was mostly made up of new arrivals from Guinea, in West Africa, and were apparently drawn to City Hall by an activist group, a source told The Post.

New York City and Mayor Eric Adams have been struggling mightily with an avalanche of illegals as Joe Biden has left the southern border wide open, and frustrated governors like Texas’ Greg Abbott have been bussing border-crossers to New York and other so-called “sanctuary cities.”

The new arrivals are finding out that the city that never sleeps doesn’t feel like much of a "sanctuary":
The rally took place on the same day the New York City Council's committees on immigration and hospitals are holding oversight hearings. They wanted to hear about the experiences new migrants from African countries are having with the city, hoping to understand things like how the administration is addressing language access barriers, health needs, and other roadblocks that growing numbers of newcomers say they are dealing with.
Many at the rally said two of their biggest issues are housing: How they only get temporary shelters, then kicked out and have no place to go, and also they say they're unable to work since they don't have work permits. They're asking for the city to streamline the process so they can get to work.

Biden, Adams, and mayors like Chicago’s Brandon Johnson have brought this chaos on themselves and only need to look in the mirror to find someone to blame.
