WATCH: Legal Analyst Gregg Jarrett Lambastes AOC Over Her Juvenile Commentary on Trump's Bond

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has become something of an expert at coming off as ill-prepared and uninformed. She was at it again Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” warning us of the huge “risk” we face if the government didn’t seize the former president’s assets should he not be able to come up with the money to pay the enormous bond required in his New York civil fraud trial. (When she was speaking, the bond was at $454 million and was due at midnight Monday; however, as we reported, a New York appellate court lowered the figure to $175 million and gave him an extra 10 days to raise it.)

Nevertheless, her take was still strikingly silly:

“I think that what we are dealing with politically is the much larger and much more grave and serious pressure of having this judgment against Donald Trump, and him being in this degree of debt and the financial pressures that he is under, and what he is subject to do in order to obtain those assets,” Ocasio-Cortez said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“I actually think that there is risk in not seizing these assets and the open window that exists in him trying to secure these funds through other means,” she said. “We’ve seen a lot of interesting transactions happening with Truth Social and other means. And there’s a very real risk of political corruption.”

I’m not an expert in AOC-speak, and if I’m being honest, I have no clue what her point is. Watch Jake Tapper's faux-serious face—I don't think he knew either.

What exactly is this dramatic risk? Are we in danger? Should we take shelter?

I was a fan of Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett’s commentary during the Trump impeachments and other matters, but I’ve never heard him quite so sharp as he was in responding to AOC Monday. He absolutely fileted her arguments:

I have no idea what she was saying. … I don't really think she does. You know, trying to make sense of anything AOC says is sort of a favorite Washington parlor game.

She has this uncanny ability to talk incessantly, while saying absolutely nothing. And that is because she is hopelessly uninformed, terminally obtuse, and I think just plain ignorant. This is the same person a week ago who said RICO or racketeering is not a crime.

No sane person takes AOC seriously, which I suppose is why she's always featured on CNN.

Watch (his commentary starts at the 1:33 mark):

Brutal, just brutal, but dead-on accurate. It’s extremely difficult to take Ocasio-Cortez seriously. She did, as he pointed out, ludicrously claim that RICO is not a crime. It is an act, a federal law, and you sure don’t want to be charged with it unless you enjoy staring at concrete walls. The long title of the measure is “An Act relating to the control of organized crime in the United States.”

As painful as it is to watch her make her mostly silly arguments, sometimes it's worth it just to see her musings get torched by people who actually know what they're talking about.
