X owner, Tesla CEO, and SpaceX founder Elon Musk did what he does best Friday—set the internet on fire. The tech mogul posted a video of himself gleefully hip-firing a Barrett .50-caliber sniper rifle into a field. As of this writing, it's been viewed over 82 million times and is deliciously triggering the left.

Evidently, he felt the video spoke for itself, seeing as the only commentary he provided was, "Hip-firing my Barrett 50 cal."
The clip comes in the wake of Elon making more news, this time by visiting the southern border to expose just how disastrous that situation has become under the disgraceful leadership of President Joe Biden.
He also advocated for more citizen journalism during that trip, as my colleague Duke reported:
Please encourage more citizen journalism! You can do live video easily from your phone. More on-the-ground reporting from regular citizens will change the world.
His newest sniper-toting, slow-motion video has been literally triggering to some:
The social media post garnered over 66 million views in less than 24 hours, with thousands of users chiming in on the viral post.
"That's sick!" one user wrote.
"The best billionaire out there," another wrote.
"WARNING: This is a liberal trigger post," another wrote.
One can only help but wonder if California Governor Gavin Newsom saw the clip. Gov. Hair Gel just signed a slew of anti-gun laws and taxes in his sustained effort to circumvent the 2nd Amendment.
Not surprisingly, there were myriad memes and reactions to Musk's Matrix-like action scene; here's just one example:

Most gun enthusiasts appeared to be impressed with Musk's skills and willingness to try out such a powerful weapon. Hard-core gamers also noted that it was a shout-out to their community:
The X boss never fails to surprise his followers. In a recent X post, the latter flexed his gun handling skills in real life. And the gun wasn’t just any random build, it was a semi-automatic sniper rifle. While the world was impressed with the movements in the video, gaming fans were intrigued to spot the Call of Duty Easter egg.
The gaming mag explains the significance of the weapon Musk chose:
This specific simple rifle has been an integral part of the FPS franchise gameplay. Also referred to as M82, it featured in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This semi-automatic gun is considered one of the finest weapons in the game.
If you're not familiar with the FPS gamer world, just know that "enthusiastic" would be an understatement to describe them. The Call of Duty franchises and their ilk have drawn millions of fans and brought in billions of dollars, and Musk has just made their year by living out their fantasies.
The mysterious mogul didn't explain his post, so it's up to others to decipher its meaning. It seems pretty reasonable however to surmise that he's tipping his hat to 2nd Amendment supporters and rifle enthusiasts and is sending a strong message without even having to say it out loud.
Some think Musk is a genius who keeps spitting in the face of the totalitarian progressive worldview represented by people like AOC. He's fought back against censorship, clapped back against annoying self-appointed Chief of Thought Police, Mark Zuckerberg, and in general refused to bow down to the "approved " ideology.
That being said, many also mistrust him and consider him a too-powerful billionaire who loves to troll people while keeping his true motivations hidden.
I fall into the former camp, where I can't help but cheer his efforts at exposing the powers that be. This video, now climbing toward 100 million views, is an example of that.
Love him or hate him, he sure keeps things interesting.
