X owner Elon Musk has been posting a lot about illegal aliens and the crisis at the border of late.
One of the questions he has asked is why is the mainstream media not reporting how bad it truly is. In an effort to bring more focus to the issue, he went down to the border and met with officials and law enforcement to shine a bigger spotlight on it, as well as to show another point he has often made about the importance of citizen journalism. In this case, he's the citizen journalist.
Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) and local law enforcement laid out how horrible the situation is down there and that they're being overwhelmed.

However, perhaps one of the worst responses to Elon's foray to the border was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
AOC commented on a picture of Musk and Gonzales posted by Fox's Griff Jenkins.
What’s funny about this photo?

The House is holding important votes in DC tonight, people are scrambling to avoid a shutdown, but this Republican Congressman decided to skip town to joyride with a billionaire when his own party has just a single-digit margin and needs his vote. https://t.co/A9f6OO4mWm
"What’s funny about this photo? " AOC said."The House is holding important votes in DC tonight, people are scrambling to avoid a shutdown, but this Republican Congressman decided to skip town to joyride with a billionaire when his party has just a single-digit margin and needs his vote."
Imagine AOC being interested in Republicans having all their people present to vote.
But wonder of wonders, how much this comment breaks all the irony meters. Isn't this the same lady who made such a spectacle of herself crying at gates over the border issue and ranting about kids in cages? At least when former President Trump was in office.
People remembered.

Gonzales is there because there's a crisis there that's devastating his constituency and addressing it is important to the American people. He's putting a big spotlight on the problem with someone who has a huge platform. That's not a "joyride," it's far more important than the latest posturing in D.C.
But funny, AOC no longer seems to care about the border as she used to, now that Joe Biden is in office, now that the problem is much worse than under Trump.
AOC's reaction is symptomatic of Democrats in general. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the people who should be there doing something about it because it's their job. But they can't be bothered except for a couple of hit-and-run photo ops. Musk the billionaire is more concerned about the American people than Democratic politicians are. Her city of New York is being overwhelmed, according to Mayor Eric Adams, a fellow Democrat. Yet she doesn't see any obligation to deal with the crisis now.
