We've known all along that today's Democratic Party is really only interested in turning America into a socialist nation. They don't even try to hide it anymore. Recently, several far-left groups, including Code Pink, went to Cuba to help prop up the imploding communist regime. In addition to the ragtag groups of leftists, two members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus also made the trip.
Democrat Reps. Pramila Jayapal (WA-07) and Jonathan Jackson (IL-01) said they were in Cuba to “see the suffering that is happening on the ground.” Are they talking about the suffering that six decades of communism have inflicted on the Cuban people? Of course not. They are talking about the fact that President Donald Trump cut two main supplies of oil to the island nation after the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro. Trump also warned of tariffs on Mexico if it continued selling oil to Cuba.

In a statement, Jayapal said:
“The illegal U.S. blockade of fuel to Cuba—90 miles south of the United States—adds to the longest embargo in world history and is causing untold suffering to the Cuban people. The United States prevented a single drop of oil from entering Cuba for over three months. This is cruel collective punishment—effectively an economic bombing of the infrastructure of the country—that has produced permanent damage. It must stop immediately.”
Both Jayapal and Jackson met with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and other top Cuban government officials. Before that meeting, Jackson had this to say:
"This is the most sanctioned part of Planet Earth right now, just 90 miles off our shores. Let´s bring the rhetoric down. People are suffering. And they are suffering for no good reason."
Are they kidding? The sad part is, we know they're not. Jayapal and Jackson blather on about how "people are suffering." Did it occur to them that the reason people are suffering is that they have endured decades of a communist dictatorship? Jayapal and Jackson also visited an oncology unit and maternity ward in Havana hospitals that have been decaying for decades. Are they decaying because of endless communist rule or Donald Trump? Trump Derangement Syndrome tells them that if people are suffering anywhere, it is the fault of Donald Trump.
What is the fascination Democrats have with dictators? @RepJayapal travelled to #cuba with @rep_jackson to become propagandists of a regime enemy of the U.S. the man she is so lovingly holding hands with is the man who gave the combat order against peaceful demonstrators in Cuba… pic.twitter.com/XUS1Ef7Vty

the man she is so lovingly holding hands with is the man who gave the combat order against peaceful demonstrators in Cuba 4 years ago. Their crime? Demanding freedom. At least seven hundred are still in prison yet these two useful idiots fall into their trap.
There is no way that Jayapal, Jackson, and the rest of their delegation are seeing what real life in Cuba is like because of communism. Food shortages, rolling blackouts, and the cost of many basic necessities are out of reach for most Cubans. Democrats love to find the "root causes" of things. Think any of these Democrat doofuses might consider that Cuba is in the condition it is in because of years of crushing communism? No, because like the rest of the leftists who went to Cuba, they have concluded that Cuba is simply not doing communism "the right way."

Rep. Jackson also stated:
"We can either help (the Cuban) people stay at home and live a healthy normal life, or there´s going to be a huge migration coming towards the United States. People will not simply stay here, suffer and die."
In case Rep. Jackson hadn't noticed, that began happening long before Donald Trump. Gee...wonder why?
I spent the last few days on a Congressional delegation to Cuba to see firsthand the devastation and suffering caused by the U.S. blockade of fuel.
