Happy Election Day! Bomb Threats Cause Several New Jersey Polling Places to Close

The only thing that appears to trigger the left just as much as anything Donald Trump says or does is elections. Especially elections that are extremely close. Election Day 2025 is no different. As New Jersey goes to the polls to elect a new governor, several of those polling precincts were closed on Tuesday after receiving bomb threats. The margin is razor-thin, with Democrat Mikie Sherrill ahead 49 to 46 percent over Republican Jack Ciattarelli.

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin issued a statement Tuesday morning that reads in part:

Early this morning, law enforcement responded to threats that were received by email involving certain polling places in Bergen, Essex, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Passaic counties. Law enforcement officers have responded at each affected polling place, and they have worked swiftly to secure these polling locations and ensure the safety of every voter.

Some of those polls have reopened, but voters who would normally go to those locations are being directed to other polling places to cast their ballots. Lt. Gov. Tahesha Way (D) confirmed the report of the bomb threat emails and posted on X, "that law enforcement determined there is no credible threat at this time." She added:

Voters should continue to have confidence that they can cast their ballot without fear of intimidation, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure a free, fair, and secure election. Make no mistake: We will not tolerate any attempts to interfere with our elections, and we will swiftly hold accountable anyone who seeks to interfere with the safety or security of our electoral process.

New Jersey is just one of four hotly contested races in off-year elections. Virginia is also electing a new governor and attorney general. But perhaps the most-watched election is the New York City mayoral race, where democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D), and Republican Curtis Sliwa are running. As New Yorkers go to the polls, Mamdani is the frontrunner.

Since the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the subject of political violence has been front and center. In the aftermath of Kirk's death, Democrats and the left contend that political violence was happening on both the left and right sides of the political spectrum. But the actual numbers and behavior do not bear that out.

My colleague Mike Miller reports on an extremely disturbing state of affairs in America. Not only do younger Americans believe that political violence will escalate, but an alarming number of them feel, in some cases, that it is justified. Then there are Democrat elected officials who only stir the pot with incendiary rhetoric like calling Republicans and conservatives "Nazis" and "fascists." It is nothing but giving a wink and a nod to those who would carry out that violence.

After an investigation, Bergen, New Jersey, police determined that the threats were a hoax, and New Jersey voters are now able to cast their ballots again. Mikie Sherrill stated about the threats:

“Obviously this is an attempt to suppress the vote here,” Sherrill told reporters. “I don’t think New Jerseyans take very kindly to that kind of tampering in our election system.”

It is unclear who made the threats, but you have to ask, what happens next time when Democrats and the left don't get their way?

The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
