He Said What He Said: Eric Schmitt Unloads on Senate Dems in Heated Hearing on Leftist Political Violence

One of the biggest problems with members of the Democrat Party is their unwillingness to call out political violence carried out by their side, and in some cases, seeming to actually condone it.

A more notable example of a Democrat "leader" choosing not to take a stand against leftist violence, for instance, came in April, when Sen. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) refused to call out the dangerous and violent targeting of Tesla dealerships amid the left's freakout over Tesla CEO Elon Musk's role with the DOGE.

When confronted by a reporter, Schumer first tried to avoid the question before hopping in an elevator and stating, "I can't talk about Tesla, but Elon Musk is a disaster for America, and America knows it. Look at Wisconsin." Moments later, the doors closed.

A related example happened during a hearing held Tuesday by the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, which focused on the alarming rise in leftist violence in America, and which was inspired in part by the assassination of conservative icon Charlie Kirk in September.

In addition to playing whataboutism games, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), the ranking member on the Judiciary Committee, made several references to an oft-cited 2024 report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) as a way to try and downplay leftist violence and to suggest far-right violence is far more prevalent.

But their methodology was deeply flawed for reasons we'll dive a little deeper into in a minute, something Subcommittee Chairman Eric Schmitt (R-MO) called out in response to Durbin's use of the report:

Schmitt introduced into the record a critical analysis of the CSIS report, which made the following observations:

For instance, CSIS excluded violence at protests, but made an exception for that rule and included violence at the Charlottesville protests populated by white supremacists. Violence at BLM protests? Ignored. Violence at Proud Boy protests? Counted. Likewise, riots were generally excluded, with the exception of Jan. 6.

With all of that and Charlie Kirk's murder in mind, it was understandable why an obviously fed-up Schmitt was not having any of the "both sides" nonsense that was attempted at the hearing.

He went off on the Democrat senators who were trying that tactic, and had FBI Director Kash Patel confirm that several of the more noteworthy instances of political violence over the last ten years, including the 2017 congressional baseball field attempted assassinations of Republican congressmen, were committed by leftists.

Watch (language warning):

And it's not just "the left" but actual Democrat elected officials in positions of power, who give tacit endorsement of it by their refusal to condemn it and/or by playing "both sides" games.

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
