Candidates and talking heads are starting to make their final push ahead of the 2026 midterms, and the Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, is no exception.

In a sit-down with Fox News' Sean Hannity on a special edition of Hannity! that aired Friday night, Vance made the GOP argument for why these could be the most important midterm elections in years.

And he only needed a blistering five minutes to do it.

Here's a clip from the interview.

Watch:

First, Hannity asked the former Ohio senator about the Ohio electoral landscape, since the Buckeye State is Vance's home state.

As RedState has written previously, incumbent Democrat Sen. Sherrod Brown faces off against Republican nominee Jon Husted in the Senate race.

The vice president reminded viewers that Brown has shown his progressive colors - time and time again - over the 40 years he's been in office, voting exactly the way former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (CA-11) and now-Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) told him to. Vance said it would be the same old, same old for Brown to take marching orders from the Democratic Socialists of America types, if allowed to return for another term.

He also pointed out Sherrod Brown's insistence that "he stands for workers," but did nothing while American workers' jobs "were shipped over to China and Mexico" under President Joe Biden's and Barack Obama's tenure in the White House.

Instead, Vance said, Sen. Brown "attacked the president of the United States [Donald Trump] who was preventing that from happening.".He also chided Brown for failing to act when millions of illegal aliens poured in and undercut the wages of hardworking Americans.

Not only did Sherrod Brown endorse the failed immigration policies of Biden and then-VP Kamala Harris, Vice President Vance said, "he called you a racist if you dared criticize Joe Biden's open border."

Sean Hannity also asked him to contrast "what America would look like if they [Democrats] win versus if the Republicans stay in power, and they get to govern two more years."

"All of these things are on the ballot"

Vance explained that there are a boatload of problems that will come rushing back if Democrats win the day in the midterms - more of the investigations in Congress we saw during Trump's first term, and more of the bad policies everyday Americans endured under Biden, including soaring, crippling inflation and gas prices that were much higher than today.

“If the Democrats win, here’s what’s going to happen: congressional investigations, as far as the eye can see, not good policymaking for the American people," he said.

You’re going to have American energy prices skyrocket because they’re going to go to war against American coal, oil, and natural gas. You’re going to see our streets become less safe. Our police officers are going to be underpaid. Our troops are going to be underpaid.

"Your community, which has seen historic reductions in violent crime, is going to see that violent crime start to tick back up," he said. "And where we had Tren de Aragua on the run, remember, the Democrats said it was reasonable for them to overtake a few American apartment buildings? We said, ‘No, that’s unacceptable.’"

"So you’re going to see those cartels start to dominate the American economy and the American southern border again," Vance continued.

And then finally, Sean, something we don’t talk enough about, and I think I have to do a better job at this: we have historically low rates of fentanyl overdoses in the United States of America because we finally went to war against those drug cartels.

Vance shared the hard truth about where the Democrat Party finds itself today, something that Pres. Trump has talked about. They are at the mercy of the radical socialists/communists in their base.

"I'm an eternal optimist. I would love to have a Democrat Party that we could work with, not that we're going to agree with on every issue, but where you could come and find some common sense solutions like Newt Gingrich did with Bill Clinton back in the mid `90s...It doesn't exist anymore, Sean," Vance said,

He ended with an issue that has burdened Vance and his family personally: the scourge of drug addiction. He said:

I think a lot of Americans know a lot of people who are suffering with addiction. Do you want to pick up that phone and find out that your neighbor who's been struggling has been poisoned to death by that stuff that the cartels are bringing across our border? Or do you want to give your neighbors more of a chance?

"All of these things are on the ballot," Vance stated,

It is very much like the "Are you better off?" question posed by the late Ronald Reagan, and the answer in the midterms is a resounding yes for many Americans compared to Biden's four years.

What this all leads to is pretty simple: start preparing now for Election Day. Make sure you, your family members and friends, and random strangers you happen to walk past on the street get to the polls. This might be one of the most meaningful elections of our lifetimes - and we need to act like it.
