Legacy Media Disrespects US Victim of ISIS, As New GOP AZ Rep Uses 'Unconventional' Docs for Swearing-In

In case anyone needs one more example to remind us that the media is irredeemable to its core, here it is. As we wrote earlier this week, swearing-in ceremonies have been taking place for members of the House and Senate leading up to the opening of the new Congress.

The reliably slanted lefty rag, The Arizona Republic decided when reporting on new Republican U.S. Rep. Abe Hamadeh (AZ) being sworn in, to include a slur that disrespects a grieving family, stating that he placed his hand on "unconventional documents."

As X user Jeremiah Cota wrote on his post, it's completely unreal that anyone who works in journalism would something approve this:

His post reads:

Good Morning.đź‘‹

The Arizona Republic @azcentral is calling the Bible that Congressman Hamadeh @AbrahamHamadehsworn in on an "unconventional documents".

Unreal, the Bible is now considered an "unconventional documents" by the writers at the Arizona Republic.

As if that's not disrespectful enough to any of the newspaper's readers who happen to be Christian, it gets worse.

The "unconventional documents" were, in fact, the family Bible of the loved ones of Kayla Mueller, an Arizona humanitarian worker who was murdered by ISIS in 2015--something the Republic apparently is quick to wave away as unmentionable subject matter.

Here's a little more about what Kayla suffered through in her short life:

A humanitarian worker from Arizona, Mueller was abducted by terrorists while leaving a Doctors Without Borders hospital in Aleppo, Syria, in 2013. She was held hostage for 18 months, when she was believed to be repeatedly tortured and raped by ISIS militants, including then-ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Mueller was killed in February 2015.

Hamadeh explained to Fox News Digital exactly why he was moved to request the honor of using the Muellers' bible at his ceremony--Kayla's inspiring, "unwavering belief" in God despite her dire circumstances:

As I take the oath of office, I am profoundly honored to fulfill my promise to the Muellers and the American people by being sworn into Congress using Kayla’s family Bible. It serves as a testament to her unwavering belief in light over darkness and freedom over oppression.

He also praised the family's bravery in making sure Americans remember their loved one, by speaking at the 2020 Republican National Convention (RNC), recalling her "powerful" letter while kidnapped by the terror group:

Hamadeh cited the Muellers’ 2020 RNC address in his comment to Fox Digital, reflecting on how the young woman’s mom read a letter her daughter wrote while imprisoned, which stated: "I have been shown in darkness light and have learned that even in prison, one can be free."

"What a powerful thing to write in the face of such horror. Kayla’s unshakable faith and inner strength were a reflection of the values instilled by her remarkable parents," Hamadeh said.

It can't be called out enough times and, frankly, calling rags like the Republic despicable doesn't cover it. They and other leftist mouthpieces, much like their treatment of former President Donald Trump, tried all they could to smear Hamadeh as a threat to democracy during his campaign since he's MAGA, and now this. Completely shameless.

Lastly, you might have noticed that their writer also threw on an attack on former Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), over weird details on her ceremony when joining the Senate. The leftists seethe with hatred for anyone who thinks differently from them--and this just shows the Republicans and President Trump's overwhelming mandate in last November's election hasn't budged that an inch.
