Schumer Throws Out a Fantasy Scenario of Trump Wanting to Ditch JD Vance; Graham Wipes It Away Instantly

There's a new narrative going around from the Left about the Republican presidential ticket--get this: They're weird!

CNN's Jake Tapper pointed out on "State of the Union" Sunday, when talking to Minnesota Democrat Governor Tim Walz, that the lawmaker appears to be the originator of this new tactic, when Dems had been--before the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump about two weeks ago--railing nonstop against the Republican nominee as "an existential threat to democracy" and the like. Walz explained that he continues to believe those fear-mongering statements, but was troubled by Trump talking during rallies about random things, like "shocking sharks" and the antagonist fictional character,"Hannibal Lector."

Walz's the one, perhaps, we have to thank for this recent turn (sort of), which is popping up among other Kamala Harris surrogates and Democrats on the Sunday Show circuit. One of them was Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who sat down with CBS' "Face The Nation," and spewed this garbage to Americans about Trump's running mate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH):

After praising the Biden-Harris "record" to high Heaven, the senator's voice takes on an ominous tone, as he "compares" it to "the Trump-Vance ticket":

It's extreme. Project 2025 shows it would take away the rights from women, and it would take away rights of working people, and help only the very wealthy. It would even be a threat to our democracy.

But it was Vance who the New York lawmaker showed up to smear, while concocting a fantasy about Donald Trump hoping against hope he can now find some excuse to ditch him immediately from the GOP ticket:

"Vance seems to be more erratic and more extreme than President Trump, and I'll bet President Trump is sitting there scratching his head and wondering, 'why did I pick this guy?'" Schumer said on "Face the Nation" Sunday.

The New York Democrat, who works with Vance in the Senate, called the addition of Vance to the ticket an "incredibly bad choice" for Republicans, suggesting that Trump may consider changing his mind in the coming days.

"He has a choice — does he keep Vance on the ticket?" Schumer said, suggesting that doing so could weigh down the ticket with Vance's "baggage." "Or does he pick someone new? It's his choice."

You can watch Schumer invent the scenario in the clip above, if you can stomach it--something I don't recommend. More enjoyable is watching this next clip of the GOP guest who followed him--Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).

Graham appeared to relish the chance to wipe away the dishonest whisper campaign the progressives are waging against Vance since he was tapped by Trump. The host asked him if it's a political mistake for Vance to "keep talking about Americans who don't have children, when it comes to a national campaign."

And let's just say, he wasn't having any of it, telling the fill-in host, CBS News' chief election and campaign correspondent, Robert Costa, how ridiculous the line of questioning was:

Watch:

(And while it's not part of the scope of this article, watch this clip of Graham trying his best to not crack up when the host asks him about Trump saying Christians won't have to vote again after this cycle. Costa's aghast expression over Graham's amusement is satisfying.)

That answer is just so excellent, you have to hope Graham will be used regularly across the country to stump for the positive, family-oriented message represented by the Trump (and now Vance) campaign.

Something tells me the Left's new alleged concerns over Vance's weirdness have more to do with, well, moolah than cat-herding and marriage:

Not too shabby for some rando weird dude from the Buckeye State, right?
