When we last checked in with the Saga of the Covert Blow-Out, longtime, San Francisco salon owner Erica Kious had spoken to Tucker Carlson about it, including revealing how House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) words and actions essentially destroyed her salon — and inspired people in the community to fill her phone with hateful text messages and death threats. Kious also shared how destructive the shutdowns were for her business.

Meanwhile, my colleagues reported that a group of ladies in the congresswoman’s district put up a unique display in front of Pelosi’s home, in protest of her ornery outburst at salon owner Kious for turning her in for breaking coronavirus masking rules. And the Mayor of San Francisco mixed it up, too, defending the Speaker’s need for beauty services because “she’s fighting a terrorist.” And by ‘terrorist,’ Mayor Breed meant our President, by the way.

Of course, President Trump used the situation as an opportunity to take a dig at San Fran Nan:

And some nefarious characters have been trying to cash in on Kious’ new-found fame…

By creating fake Twitter and YouTube accounts under her name to hawk t-shirts and other items:

As I mentioned in my piece about Kious sitting down for an interview on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” a GoFundMe account was set up to help her with expenses. Now, there’s awesome news about the fundraising goal, which Kious shared on Labor Day with Fox News.

Fox News:

During an exclusive interview with Fox News on Monday, Kious said that a GoFundMe page that was created for her amid the controversy reached its goal, which was $300,000.

After thanking people for lending their support and sending positive messages of love and care, Kious said, in part:

“It’s a powerful reminder that the common things that bind us all together as Americans are far more meaningful and lasting than political and ideological differences that get so much attention and focus.

Today, on Labor Day, we should all focus on celebrating the efforts and achievements of hard-working people everywhere. They deserve our respect and appreciation, and they definitely all deserve an opportunity to get back to work safely and responsibly.”

She added: “That is all this ever was about.”

And while there’s no word on whether Kious will take Gov. Noem (R) up on her offer to relocate her business to South Dakota, at least she has a chance now to take back control of her salon’s future thanks to the generous support she’s received.
