In my opinion, CSPAN, as my followers know, is a national treasure, providing unfiltered, gavel-to-gavel presentations of thousands of events back to the mid-1980s with transcripts archived forever.
CSPAN is especially helpful when, as in recent days, it gives us thorough coverage of the Senate hearings on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court nomination. There’s no way any writer can so accurately provide insight into the demeanor of news personalities better than letting us see her and them with our own eyes.
God help us.
You can watch for yourself excerpts or all four days of the committee hearing at c-span dot org. And here at Red State, we’ve had copious coverage like this.
My favorite line of the hearing was Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley who told the judge:
I got home last night at about 8 o’clock, and the first thing I heard was my wife’s opinion that you did very good in your opening statement. She didn’t have anything to say about my statement.
Here is my three-minute take on the latest example of Washington’s performance art show. Let me know in the comments if you think any of these folks are earning the $174,000 we pay each for their services every year.
See you Sunday afternoon, when my weekly column posts at RedState.com. Everything I write for Red State ends up right here.
And you can browse the site for dozens of other pungent posts by our stable of diverse writers, with their own fresh takes that don’t toe the Washington media line.
