It’s been said it’s “never to late to say you’re sorry.” Is it ever too early to make it necessary?

Following weeks of purported pressure from fans, on Tuesday, dancer and actress Maddie Ziegler posted a lengthy mea culpa regarding her past.

You see, she previously…well, I’ll let her tell it:

“(In the past) I thought it was funny to mock people and accents. I’m honestly ashamed and I’m truly sorry for my actions. The decisions I made then are absolutely not decisions I would make today.”

Sounds like she must’ve matured, which is impressive since Maddie’s only 17.

Thank goodness she’s no longer living the loathsome life.

Although — she might be forgiven by default.

After all, she was only 11.

I’ll write that again, in case you figure a typo’s afoot: Someone was compelled to print a retraction of their errors made in third grade (or thereabouts).

She explained:

“What I thought was silly humor when I was younger I know was actually ignorant and racially insensitive. We have all made mistakes in our lives, and as we grow up, we educate ourselves and learn to be better people.”

So that’s where we are.

As reported by Elite Daily, a prepubescent Maddie’s been spotted on video “making racist jokes about Asians, including mocking their accents and facial features…”

If you’re not aware of the reformed reduced-size racist, from 2011 to 2016, she appeared on the reality show Dance Moms.

In addition to film roles, Maddie’s made a splash in music videos by Sia:

Back to repentance, if you can forgive the actress for doing something goofy before she hit the double digits, she’d appreciate it:

“There are a few videos some of you have seen from when I was about 9 years old where I thought it was funny to mock people and accents. … Growing up in the public eye has its challenges and also comes with the responsibility to set a good example, which I failed to do in these videos. I hope you will forgive me and also hope you realize I have, in fact, grown up and would never act this way now.”

But if you’re just too wounded by the actions of someone who likely still had their baby molars, she understands:

“I know some of you are hurt and may not accept my apology. But I want to ask all of you to please be kind to each other on socials. There is no need to attack each other or try to defend me. I don’t want anyone to feel bullied and think we can all learn from my mistakes and spread love during these times when we need it most.”

Conscientiousness must run in the family — as noted by The Daily Wire, Maddie’s younger sister, 16-year-old Mackenzie, also came clean via the ‘Gram.

She apologized to the whole world:

“I’m much more educated now than I was before, and I’m so sorry… I’m so sorry that I offended the Black community, I would never treat you like that now. And if you guys don’t forgive me, I completely understand.”

Well, it’s all about education.

So here’s a truism to be learned: It’s not nice to make fun of people.

And also: Someone barely tall enough to ride Space Mountain might deserve some slack.

I’m waiting for the day when it’s announced to the planet: Everyone and everything is canceled.

Did you do something wrong when you were 4? Better watch yourself, Jack!

They’re comin’ for ya, and it won’t be pretty.

We’ve got some reeeal problems, America.

How can we #cancel them?
