Ilhan Omar’s all in on sexual assaultin’ Biden.
I’m not saying Joe committed the acts of which he’s accused; how could I know that? I wasn’t there. After all, you can’t “believe all women.” Or all men. Or all kids. Or all…anyone.
Heck, you can’t even believe all dogs —
But, as covered by RedState’s Bonchie earlier Monday, Omar announced she believes Biden accuser Tara Reade:
“I do believe [Tara] Reade. Justice can be delayed, but should never be denied.”
Ilhan Omar tells @joshglancy “I do believe [Tara] Reade. Justice can be delayed, but should never be denied.” She adds that if it was up to her, Biden wouldn’t be the candidate. https://t.co/xCax3m5QYK

That was from an interview with UK outlet The Times, and Bonchie opened his article with the following:
Does she walk this back within 24 hours or 48 hours? Because she’s got to walk this back, right?
Did the guy call it or what? She didn’t walk it back, per se, but she walked Biden forward.
Bonchie’s article posted at 9:30 EST.
Now here’s Omar, 11 minutes later::
“Believing survivors is consistent with my values. Yes, I endorsed against Biden and I didn’t pick him as our nominee. With that said, in this interview I did on May 6th, we talked about that and quotes aren’t always in context. I will vote for him and help him defeat Trump.”

Obviously, the war cry of “believe survivors” is a bit circular — “survivors” denotes they were for certain assaulted, in which case “believing” them or not no longer applies. And if it’s wrong to believe them, they didn’t “survive” anything.
In order for justice to prevail, of course, you have to first determine whether someone survived something, which is to say, whether the person charged is guilty. Once that’s accomplished, you’re able to believe whichever party was determined to have been correct. And the rightful path to that clarity is due process, not just “believing” things at the outset.
But Ilhan didn’t champion due process; she said unequivocally she believes Tara — which means she cannot believe innocence-proclaiming, guilty Joe.
As Bonchie noted, siding with Reade was a mysterious move:
Let’s see if we can figure this out. Omar believes that Tara Reade was sexually assaulted by Joe Biden. But she wants you to go ahead and get out there to defeat Donald Trump, who is running against Joe Biden. Therefore, justice that she believes has to be served needs to be delayed a little longer to satisfy her political goals. I guess no one ever accused “the squad” of not being absolutely brazen in their hypocrisy.
At least now, Ilhan’s made things crystal: She believes Joe Biden is guilty of sexual assault; and she believes Joe Biden should be President of the United States.
She’s not the only one ready to vote for the nominee no matter what — in a column for The Nation last week, writer Katha Pollitt made the following vow:
I would vote for Joe Biden if he boiled babies and ate them.
So what’s the principle at work for many Blue endorsers and activists? Fighting for women, or just being Democrats? If it’s the latter, protestors could’ve saved a whole lot of time in 2016 and afterward.
And perhaps those party-over-principle pundits could’ve expressed a complete understanding for America’s election of Donald Trump — he may not have been perfect in every way, but GOP voters believed he was preferable to Hillary Clinton.
But that’s probably expecting too much.
Meanwhile, Ilhan’s on board — with Tara Reade. And with making the former aide’s assailant the Leader of the Free World
