How about a good ol’ story where a military vet shows a guy what’s what to protect his loved ones?

The place: Venice Beach, California

The time: Early evening, Saturday, January 4th.

A family was checking out the famed hippie haven for the first time when a homeless man tried to snatch their 6-year-old girl from her mom’s lap.

Uncle Chris — that would be, U.S. Army vet Uncle Chris — didn’t appreciate it none.

Therefore, he took the guy down.

When cops arrived, it took six officers to subdue the aspiring abductor.

As reported by the Daily Mail, it began when 31-year-old Evan McLaurin-Nelson — who police believe to be homeless — approached dad Riley Pegram, mom Noheli, daughter Neveah, and Chris at the world-famous boardwalk.

The weirdo told ’em he knew Neveah, and that he had to “save” her.

The fam got outta there to hit a nearby pizzeria, but Evan followed.

He tried to snatch Neveah.

Chris took the opportunity to push Evan back and put his hand around his throat.

That’s Strike 2.

Batter up:

Evan came back and tried to grab Neveah again.

He’s out:

As captured by security footage, Noheli kicked Evan while Riley tried to block him with his arm.

Chris had more substantial plans.

The soldier grabbed Evan from behind by the hair — I’m talking about a traction-worthy yank — and dragged him to the floor.

Fast-forward to a pin-down. And some UFC-style domination.

From the police statement:

“He wrestled with the suspect for several minutes until LAPD Pacific Division officers responded and took the suspect into custody.”

Did drugs play a part? Maybe.

Riley told ABC13, “We think he was on something.”

According to Neveah’s dad, Evan kept yelling, “Save the girl! I need to save her!”

Was he really going to abduct her?

Judge for yourself — his arrest record in both California and Las Vegas includes battery, indecent exposure, and false imprisonment.

And now, it’s sporting attempted kidnapping and one count of resisting an officer. His bail was set at $160,000.

Who needs Uncle Bernie to provide for us all when there’s Uncle Chris ready to take care of business?

Neveah’s got people looking out for her.

She told KTLA5 what it was like:

“It was so scary. I was bawling my eyes out because I was scared I was going to get taken away from my mommy and daddy.”

Uncle Chris saved the day.

These are the good guys, and thank God we have ’em on our side.
