Trump Jr.’s shown time and again he’s quite the gunslinger on Twitter and television, and DTJ pulled out his (trigger warning) six-shooter Wednesday to address famously anti-Trump entertainer Kathy Griffin.
On Friday, Kathy made false claims about about Secretary of Defense Dr. Mark Esper’s service record with the United States Army.
Furthermore, she accused the President of hiring him for a supremely goofy reason.
The self-appointed “Mayor of Zero F***sville” offered a Thursday question for the Twitterverse:
“Who is the current secretary of defense?”
Who is the current secretary of defense?

Responding to a user, she followed with this the next day:
“Okay, it’s time to admit how ignorant we are. His name is Mark Esper. Trump chose him because he used to work at Boeing. He was a captain in the army during a non-war period.”

Did Trump appoint him because he worked at Boeing?
Well, proving that’s a tricky thing… We’d first have to maneuver around the fact that, as reported by The Daily Wire, he never worked there.
So it could take some time.
As for his military record, here are a few feathers in Mark’s combat cap, courtesy of the Department of Defense:
Dr. Esper is a recipient of the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service. Among his many military awards and decorations are the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal-Saudi Arabia, and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
Requirements for Combat Infantryman Badge:
(1) The Soldier must be an infantryman satisfactorily performing infantry duties.
(2) Must be assigned to an infantry unit during such time as the unit is engaged in active ground combat.
(3) Must actively participate in such ground combat. (Campaign or battle credit alone is not sufficient for award of the CIB.)
And about the Bronze Star Medal:
It is awarded to individuals who, while serving in the United States Armed Forces in a combat theater, distinguish themselves by heroism, outstanding achievement or by meritorious service not involving aerial flight.
And how’s about an excerpt from TaskAndPurpose.com on the Iraq War vet:
“Esper’s battalion was a crucial part of the legendary ‘left hook’ that saw the massive buildup and rapid deployment of some 350,000 troops, including 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions and the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, to expel the Iraqi military from Kuwait in the early months of 1991.”
Back to Kathy’s dropping of the ball in an attempt to drop some science, the President’s oldest child responded in a statement to the TDW, and it was quite the scorcher:
“The Left can’t even be creative with their lies anymore. Secretary Esper is a combat veteran who was awarded both the Bronze Star and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. He served as Secretary of the Army. He’s a West Point & Harvard graduate with a PhD from George Washington University. And he never worked for Boeing.”
Now brace for the burn:
“That tweet is quite similar to Griffin’s career — a bad joke and a failure.”
Yikes.
Certainly, a battle won for Team Trump.
But stay tuned…I’m sure the war between the President and the Mayor isn’t over.
