Have you gotten your period recently?
If so, today could be your day.
On Tuesday, the American Civil Liberties made an announcement in honor of International Men’s Day.
To be clear, given the dastardly depravity of dudes, there’s a looming question, as noted by a Yahoo Style article:
“Do We Need International Men’s Day? Debate Breaks Out”
But if you can tolerate such oppressive applause, the triggering tribute sits upon six patriarchal pillars:
- highlighting discrimination against men
- supporting male health issues
- improving gender relations
- promoting gender equality
- celebrating male contributions to society
- promoting male role models
The ACLU took to Twitter in recognition of the day, and to educate the world.
As per the rights organization, there’s no singular way to be a man.
Make no mistake about it:
“There’s no one way to be a man. Men who get their periods are men. Men who get pregnant and give birth are men. Trans and non-binary men belong. #InternationalMensDay”
There’s no one way to be a man.
Men who get their periods are men.
Men who get pregnant and give birth are men.
Trans and non-binary men belong.#InternationalMensDay

The ACLU’s certainly not alone.
Over time, word’s getting out:
The leaders of our evolution are schooling cisiety:
If a woman has a penis, her penis is a biologically female penis.

So there you are. To all you individuals putting the “men” in “menstruation,” Happy International Day to you.
And remember to always change your tampon.
Otherwise, you could die of toxic masculinity.
