Making it Official: Pelosi Announces the House Will Vote on Impeachment. But is it a Trap?

On Monday, Nancy Pelosi announced the House’s imminent vote in formalizing the next steps to impeach the 45th president of the United States.

(Meanwhile, they have no workable candidate to beat that same president a year from now).

As noted by Politico, the resolution will mark the chamber’s first impeachment floor vote since Dems launched their inquiry last month.

Here’s what Nancy had to say in a letter to Democrats:

“We are taking this step to eliminate any doubt as to whether the Trump Administration may withhold documents, prevent witness testimony, disregard duly authorized subpoenas, or continue obstructing the House of Representatives.”

Nancy wasn’t so hip on impeachment in the beginning. But I guess she warmed up ot it.

And she’s got 228 likeminded party peeps.

But is it a trap? As noted by The Daily Caller, Nancy’s said she thinks Trump is “goading” Dems to impeach him, so as to galvanize his base.

The guy does seem to be a wiley strategist.

But goading isn’t really necessary to give him a boost — somehow, while gettin’ all pumped up over impeachment, the Democrats forgot that they’re supposed to come up with someone to run for president. At this point, a randomly-placed bear trap would catch as good of a candidate as they’ve come up with.

That’s a substantial bonus added to the $1 million the GOP raised only one day after Nancy endorsed the “I” word.

As for 2020, the more they journey down this road, it seems to me, they’ll be coming up on that nearby letter of the alphabet, “L,” for “lose.”

Between now and then, I suppose they’ll stop off at Jeopardized and Kaput.

But they just can’t help themselves:

Democrats have continued to send congressional subpoenas to those close to Trump for documents related to the ongoing scandal regarding Trump’s phone call with the President of Ukraine and whether Trump asked him to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden in exchange for U.S. military aid to Ukraine. The House Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, and Oversight committees are all investigating Trump, his cabinet members, and closest allies.

Trump’s sittin’ on goad. I mean, go.
