Louisiana is a strange and mysterious place. In the last few months, I’ve covered stories of a lady biting a camel in the scrotum and a woman having no idea how that bag of meth got in her vagina.
For those of you who subscribe to cisgenderism, now it’s time for the men to take a turn.
And our male avatar is none other than Damont Meredith, 21, of Gretna.
On Sunday, September 29th, Damont was shot at.
By a 28-year-old female.
Thankfully, someone who heard gunfire called 911.
At about 11:10 p.m.
As reported by Nola.com, Sheriff’s deputies showed up and asked him to recount the details.
He told them he’d been fired upon at a nearby crime scene. He offered to take them there.
Declining his offer, cops followed his directions to the 1000 block of Dimarco Drive, in Marrero.
But as they neared, 911 received yet another call, this time from a woman claiming to have just been robbed at gunpoint.
As she described the assailant — who shot at her while he was fleeing…and at whom, she also shot in retaliation — the officers realized she was detailing the appearance of Damont.
They went back to him, and he denied any wrongdoing.
But the lady gave a positive ID.
Clearly, in telling police where the crime had occurred — and, therefore, where to find the victim — Damont had failed to consider the fact that he was the robber.
He also, evidently, wanted law enforcement to catch who’d been shooting at him.
Even though he’d shot at them first.
After having robbed them.
On charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault with a firearm, Damont was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.
On Tuesday, he was still there.
No word on whether his continuing stay was due to legal necessity or he just hadn’t yet figured his way out of the building.
