Can Trump get re-elected in 2020? Apparently, the answer is Most Certainly — after all, Republicans are going to cheat.

So insists former attorney general Eric Holder.

Appearing on hit urban radio show The Breakfast Club Monday, the Obama era’s top lawyer said Democrats have a definite chance this time around.

Host Charlamagne tha God wasn’t so sure.

Eric admitted — it’ll definitely be tough, what with the bamboozlin’ and all:

“It’s going to be hard because the reality is that Republicans are going to cheat. They’re going to try to keep people away from the polls. They’re going to move polling places. They’re going to do a whole variety of things.”

A whole variety! Like a show where you’ve got everything from spinning plates to Elvis. Or like a box of instant oat meal featuring not only strawberries and cream, but also maple & brown sugar and cinnamon and spice.

But the upcoming trickery ain’t so appetizin’.

In fact, Charlemagne said he doubted Trump would willingly exit the White House, even if his challenger won. He’d likely be carted off to prison.

Eric thought maybe so, too. But he used ta not:

“I thought to myself, ‘that’s ridiculous.’ But as I’ve thought about it, this guy with all the norms he breaks through — I think, he loses, and then it will be interesting between, say, November and January, when he would have to start packing.”

Sounds like Trump’s there to stay. Maybe it’s all part of what MSNBC contributor Elie Mystal told the world is absolutely, definitely possible: the rule of an evil GOP for a “thousand-year reich” (here and here).

That’d be less than great for Eric — as pointed out by to The Washington Free Beacon, he’s still very much active in the Democratic Party:

Since leaving the Obama administration, Holder has taken up the issues of gerrymandering and voting rights. He chairs the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, which aims to support Democratic candidates in state races to help in redistricting after the 2020 census.

In fact, when Stacey Abrams lost the 2018 gubernatorial election, Eric demanded she’d actually won.

Will the same occur in 2020?

Could be; the Republicans will be cheating.
