We seem to be living in an ever-uglier world.
Vitriol in the political realm appears to be following the increasing use of vulgarity in our entertainment — just witness Beto’s employment of the “F” word, in interviews (here) and on T-shirts (here). Such a use would’ve immediately deleted any candidate of the past.
Another contributor to the crassness of contemporary conversation is congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who, shortly after becoming the first federal female lawmaker sworn in on a Quran, stunningly announced to a cheering group of supporters that she would “impeach the motherf***er” — that would be, the President of the United States (here).
At an impeachment rally Thursday outside the U.S. Capitol, Tlaib’s presence brought more of the same.
But this time, the nostalgic audience took part in a bit of call and response.
When the Capitol’s cornerstone was laid — by President George Washington on September 18, 1793 — I wonder if he dropped a couple F bombs, too.
“We are ready to impeach!” Rashida declared.
The crowd erupted: “The motherf***er!”
Is this now the tone at the center of the nation?
According to Fox News reporter Chad Pergram, it was Thursday night.
At pro impeachment rally at capitol, Dem MI Rep Tlaib reprised her viral video from earlier this year where she used profane language directed toward the President regarding impeachment. Tlaib says to the crowd:
“We are ready to impeach….” Crowd responds: “the m—– f—–!"

The Michigan representative also explained:
“This is not about the 2020 election, it’s about doing what’s right now for our country. This is going to be a precedent that we set when we don’t hold this president accountable to the rule of the law and to the United States Constitution.”
It could actually end up throwing the election further into Trump’s favor — as Meghan McCain pointed out Tuesday, the Ukraine discussion is going to take Joe Biden into the sludge. That puts Elizabeth Warren — who passed Joe in a poll recently — in line for the nomination.
And, as surely many would agree, Donald Trump against the mild-mannered Democrat in a no-holds-barred debate will be like Dracula fighting a mosquito — they may both technically be out for blood, but one will just step on the other.
So while the Dems are trying to impeach the mother******, they may just help elect the mother******.
But as we wait and see, there’s good news: You can now get the T-shirt.
U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib who made a name for herself for calling President @realDonaldTrump a "Mother F*****" and was recorded on camera telling a crowd of supporters she was going to impeach him, is now selling shirts enshrining that moment. https://t.co/WEqxogAwf4
