On Tuesday, Beto O’Rourke’s campaign sent out a mass-email referencing conservative voice Ben Shapiro.

Its subject line was “Trump, the NRA, Ben Shapiro, and Brit Hume,” and the digital dispatch trumpeted that “Beto’s running a new kind of campaign.”

What kind would that be? “One that throws out the old political playbook and fully focuses on people. It starts with engaging everyone, everyday, everywhere — whether they’re in an early state, a deep red state, or a blue state.”

The message noted a fear among Ben, the President, and a few others — a deep concern over Democratic success. The kind of big-time victory that’s in the cards for Beto — the man who inherited millions and married into half a billion and who’s promised to rid America of the privileged elite (here).

They’re right to be nervous! Beto is a huge threat to the lot of them. Not just because he’s an incredible leader (and he is!) but because all of us are building a nationwide grassroots movement to take power back for the people — no matter where they live.

The Daily Wire reported that the campaign communique asked recipients for a crisp green Abe Lincoln:

If we beat Trump, it’ll be because we built the largest grassroots campaign this country has ever seen. And that all comes down to you, and what you’re willing to do. Hence the email asking you for $5.

Advice for next time: Use “when,” not “if.”

If he wins, Beto’s certainly got his work cut out for him. He can start by protecting the world from you: As he pointed out in June, you’ve starved Central Americans with your “excesses.”

And once he’s broken up all the country’s wealth (except, apparently, his own, which he’s kept), he’ll be able to move straight into fighting all y’all racists:

Molly Prince of TDW tweeted a reference to the fundraising email, and Ben Shapiro responded with a serious burn:

Yikes.

Maybe Beto prefers single percentages — like the one reflecting the wealthy upper crust he’s part of.
