Appearing on Fox News program The Ingraham Angle, Acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan blamed rhetoric from the Democratic Party, in part, for the left-wing terrorist attack on an illegal-immigration detention center in Tacoma, Washington.

On Saturday morning, a rifle-toting 69-year-old assailant was killed by law enforcement after trying to ignite a large propane tank.

Reportedly, Willem Van Spronsen was an anarchist and member of the ironically-named fascistic group Antifa (here).

Willem left a manifesto, and its claims suffered, as noted by Laura, under the influence of far-Left Democrats’ stunning excoriation of America’s system of border enforcement:

“[The attacker’s] manifesto repeatedly referred to ICE and the holding centers as ‘concentration camps,’ a comparison pushed by AOC. Not one 2020 Dem or mainstream media organization thought to mention that link, that same verbiage, none of it.”

Mark is perplexed by the DNC’s move against law:

“Why is this happening? We know why it’s happening. The rhetoric that’s out there from our own elected leaders, the vile rhetoric — they’re attacking the men and women of ICE, they’re attacking the men and women of CBP. It’s unjust, it’s unfair, it’s misinformed and outright — sometimes — they’re just lying to the American people. And it’s undoubtedly fueling this.”

He has a point — if Democrats are stirring the pot of paranoia with a perpetual characterization of immigration law and border agents as evil, it should be no surprise when the nuttiest among us rise to fight the monster.

And it isn’t only true with regard to immigration: The same, it seems to me, has occurred in various ways since the advent of Donald Trump. It’s how we end up with violent, black-masked terrorists — just see this incredible spectacle:

You can’t stoke the coals of fear and expect no one to lash out.

Laura did make it clear, however, that she wasn’t claiming Alexandria “Concentration Camp” Ocasio-Cortez directly caused the attack (here and here).

But, as noted by Laura:

“If you actually think a concentration camp is happening in America, what wouldn’t you do to stop it?”

Mark agreed. What many fail to understand, he insisted, is that our border agents are, in fact, heroes:

“What makes me so frustrated, Laura, is the men and women of CBP…this year alone, they’ve rescued almost 4,000 individuals. Individuals trying to illegally enter this country.”
