As I covered previously, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez does, and what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appears to only be able to do: say things that are…well…let’s just say not correct (here, here, and here).
The 29-and-a-half-year-old Instagrammed Monday that Donald Trump is running “concentration camps” at the border. Liz Cheney pounced, then so did Jewish groups (here).
Now Nancy Pelosi’s put on her jersey and taken to the ice, and she wants to condemn Republicans. At a Christian Science Monitor breakfast Wednesday, the keynote speaker said she wasn’t too familiar with the initial dustup:
“I’m not up to date with [AOC’s] most recent remarks. I saw them on the news, but I haven’t spoken to her about that.”
If you saw them on the news, how are you not up on them?
Continuing:
“These members of Congress, they come to represent their districts and their point of view and they take responsibility for the statements that they make.”
Ne York Rep. Jerry Nadler seems to side with Ocasio-Cortez:
One of the lessons from the Holocaust is ‘Never Again’ – not only to mass murder, but also to the dehumanization of people, violations of basic rights, and assaults on our common morality. We fail to learn that lesson when we don’t callout such inhumanity right in front of us. https://t.co/EEBBkVL7FG

Nancy claimed the GOP is just bein’ goobs — they’ll take any old thing and freak out about it. So let’s walk on eggshells because of those irresponsible, lyin’ dorks:
“I do have comments to make to the caucus at large about the political nature of — how politically charged that atmosphere is. So understand that while the Republicans have no interest in holding the president accountable for his words, they will misrepresent anything that you say just — if you have one word in a sentence they can exploit.”
Right — that’s the reasonable thing to glean.
As for technically picking apart their comments, is that what happened when Nancy claimed “a wall is an immorality” (here) while she had a wall around her own property? How about the time she had the cops called when someone climbed it? Just wonderin’.
