In Michigan, if you’re an oppressed woman seeking an abortion, Shelley O’Brien has a room for you.

Shelley runs the Yale Hotel in the city by the same name, and she’s extending an invitation to lovely ladies in states such as Alabama and Georgia to come on up to the Great Lakes State and get that pregnancy undone.

The liberal resident of a 65%-Trump-voter town made her offer on Facebook:

“Dear sisters that live in Alabama, Ohio, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, or any of the other states that follow with similar laws restricting access, we cannot do anything about the way you are being treated in your home-state. But, if you can make it to Michigan, we will support you with several nights lodging, and transportation to and from your appointment.”

The original post was written on May 16th; it’s been updated based on new states’ legislation.

And people are getting on board to drive chicks from their crappy states:

“(Update 5/22/19: Since I posted this, I’ve received numbers of people willing to help drive you here… and I’ve learned of organizations like Yellowhammerfund.org (here) that have a network in place already to help with the many barriers to receiving safe and legal reproductive services. If you need help, please message me. In order to support that effort, I will be donating 25% of my receipts that are a direct result of the new policy to a fund like this. Amount donated to date: $100 (5/22/19) 🙂 )”

Abortion’s really, really, really important to Shelley. She made that clear to the Detroit Free Press:

“This is important. This is my line. There’s no coming back from this. You start taking away the right for women to control their own bodies, and we’re done for as a civilization.”

We’re done as a civilization??

What is it about those on the left side of the aisle perpetually predicting the end of the modern world if their policies aren’t pursued? For another bizarre example, see here.

Shelley’s gotten off pretty easy, given her controversial pro-abortion promotion:

“I haven’t had anybody confront me. There haven’t been picketers or protesters, either, outside the hotel.”

Someone did make a phone call, but she was sure to explain what she’s not doing in the basement:

“I have had one person call to say that he thought it was wrong. He didn’t have Facebook, but he heard about it and he wanted to let me know that he thought what we are doing is wrong. And I’ve been called a baby killer. And it’s like, ‘No, I’m not killing babies in the basement. I am just giving someone a place to stay or maybe a ride.'”
