According to the White House, in an Oval Office meeting between Donald Trump and Governor Andrew Cuomo Tuesday, the President expressed his concern over the left-wing politician’s — as well as his party’s — upped embrace of late-term abortion.
Cuomo, of course, recently celebrated his signing of a murderous bill allowing abortion up ’til the moment of birth. Repulsively, he had prominent locales lit up in pink (here and here).
The Trump administration released topics of discussion between the two leaders in a statement by Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere:
“The President discussed economic growth opportunities for the State of New York, including helping lower energy prices throughout the entire Northeast by allowing low-cost, American energy to thrive with fracking and pipeline systems. The two also discussed the need to update America’s outdated infrastructure system.”
Okay. Fine, fine…
But also:
“And the president raised his concerns to Governor Cuomo about Democrats’ support of late-term abortions.”
There ya go. Any impact?
As reported by the New York Post, Cuomo seemed above all that “don’t murder babies” talk:
“Politically, the president always throws the same pitch. This is a president who governs by division. It started right from the very beginning, Muslim travel ban, rich versus poor, racial division, this is now political division. He met with a Democratic governor so they feel constrained to reiterate their divisions with the Democrats.”
Is there any getting through to Cuomo or those like him? Have we crossed the point of no return, or was Trump right in his dissection of the recent radical pro-abortion moves among the Left?
Where do we go from here?
